The title race looks to be all but run with Manchester City now 16 points clear of the chasing pack following their routine 1-0 win over last season’s Champions Chelsea last time out. The race for the top 4 looks set to go down to the wire though with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all winning to strengthen their stronghold on the Champions League spots.
Alan Pardew continues to cling on to his job despite West Brom seemingly cut adrift at the bottom of the table whilst the likes of Stoke, Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham will be desperate for points with the end of the season approaching.
Here are our picks for the thirtieth round of fixtures in the Premier League:
23:30 Manchester United vs Liverpool – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($2.8)
The ‘biggest game in English football’ kicks off the Premier League schedule this weekend with two teams with fabled pasts and inconsistent presents meet at Old Trafford with the ultimate accolade of finishing 2nd in the Premier League on the line. The Red Devils have been in great form in 2018, winning 9 of their 11 league matches so far – with their defeats to Tottenham & Newcastle the only blotches on their copy book this year. With 62 points from 29 games they sit 2nd in the table – 16 points behind leaders Manchester City with only 10 games to go. The Reds have been in great form in recent weeks and look to have kicked on despite their dip in form back in January – epitomised by their impressive 5-0 aggregate win over Porto in the Champions League and 2-0 thumping of Newcastle last time out. Jurgen Klopp has guided his men to 3rd in the Premier League table, with 60 points from their opening 29 games and they have only lost three times in the league all season. This could be a huge contrast of styles between two completely different teams who could cancel each other out on the big stage.

02:00 Everton vs Brighton – Goodison Park
Sam Allardyce will be desperate for a reaction from his charges as they welcome Brighton to the North West in an intriguing encounter. The Toffees were humbled 2-1 by Burnley last week and look to be finishing the season with a whimper. Brighton meanwhile, beat Arsenal last time out and have a FA Cup quarter final to look forward to. Everton have shown glimpses under Sam Allardyce but heavy defeats on the road of late have checked their progress somewhat. Sam Allardyce hasn’t been able to continue the boost he initially gave the club when he arrived late in 2017. The Toffees are out of all cup competitions and sit 11th in the table with 9 games still to play – they are only 7 points above the relegation places however and will be feeling the need to get points on the board. Brighton have progressed to the last 8 of the cup and with the Premier League back on the agenda, Chris Hughton’s men will be looking to continue to defy the odds in the Premier League. They are 7 points above the relegation zone and they look well up for the scrap this term. Following their 2-1 win over Arsenal last time out, the Seagulls have 34 points from their opening 29 games. This should be a good game, between two well matched teams who will be looking for a strong finish to the season.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.7) BET NOW
02:00 Huddersfield vs Swansea City – John Smith’s Stadium
Swansea City ($3.3)
Two teams immersed in the relegation picture face off on Saturday afternoon as Premier League points become the priority. The Terriers had slipped into the relegation zone in the Premier League before their 4-1 thumping of Bournemouth and 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion last time out and they are currently 15th in the standings, with 30 points to their name. David Wagner’s men have only won twice in the Premier League in 2018 and following their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, Premier League safety is now the priority. Carlos Carvahal has had an instant impact at the Liberty Stadium – only losing two of his 14 games in charge so far in all competitions. With his side still in the FA Cup, he has overseen an incredible transformation at the club, epitomised by their current league standing of 13th – although they are only three points above the drop zone. This could be a cagey game between two teams scrapping for their lives but Swansea are full of confidence and should get the win here.

Swansea City to win 2-1
02:00 Newcastle United vs Southampton – St James’s Park
Newcastle United ($2.8)
Two teams locked in the relegation picture face off on Saturday afternoon as Premier League points become the priority. Few would have expected either side to be in the relegation scrap but with 9 games to go, they both need points and need them quickly. The Toon have lacked consistency all season and as a result find themselves only 1 point above the relegation zone following their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool. 29 points from 29 games isn’t the return Rafa Benitez would have hoped for at the start of the season but Premier League safety has become the absolute priority for Newcastle currently. The Saints find themselves just above the relegation zone and they have drawn their last 2 league games against Burnley and Stoke. 28 points from 29 games isn’t the ideal return for a team of the Saints’ quality but Mauricio Pellegrino will be looking to secure Premier League safety as a priority – currently in 17th position, one point above the drop zone. This could be a cagey one between two sides bereft of confidence.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.8) BET NOW
02:00 West Bromwich Albion vs Leicester City – The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion ($3)
Leicester City ($2.6)
It looks to be too late to salvage anything from this season for Alan Pardew and West Brom who are 8 points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table. Languishing at the bottom of the table and 8 points from safety, Alan Pardew will have to pull off the great escape to ensure the Baggies are a Premier League team next season. West Brom have only won 3 Premier League games this season and have collected 20 points from their opening 29 games – a tally that needs drastic improvement and they are now out of the FA Cup too. Claude Puel is going through a sticky period with the Foxes, who despite being 8th in the Premier League table, haven’t won in their last 5 Premier League games. However, they are very much in with an outside chance of playing European football next season and with FA Cup progress secured, they can put all of their attention into improving their Premier League position. West Brom will need to get a big result here but Leicester are canny operators and should inflict even more misery on the Baggies.

Leicester to win 2-1
02:00 West Ham United vs Burnley – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($2.3)
The congestion at the bottom of the league has resulted in many games being hugely important and this looks to be a crucial game for West Ham. With Burnley now safe on 40 points, the Hammers will be targeting this game for a vital home win. David Moyes’s initial transformation is in danger of wearing off at the London Olympic Stadium and they are now 14th in the table and such is the congestion at the bottom of the table, they are only 3 points above the relegation places. Burnley have been in fantastic form all season under Sean Dyche and despite results tailing off a little in recent weeks, the Clarets look well set for another season of Premier League football. The Clarets have enjoyed an amazing first half of the season and sit 7th with only 9 games remaining and they have a remarkable 40 points to their name. Their 2-1 win over Everton last time out was their first win in 13 matches in all competitions and they look to have addressed the slide. Burnley will make life tricky for the Hammers and it could well end honours even.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.95) BET NOW
04:30 Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Stamford Bridge
Crystal Palace ($12)
Chelsea look out of the race to defend their title but they will endeavour to make life difficult for their London rivals here. The wheels are in danger of falling off for Chelsea this season – back to back defeats to the Manchester clubs have inrecreased the scrutiny around the club and Antonio Conte looks to be scrapping to save his job – the Blues sit 5th in the Premier League table with 53 points from their opening 29 games and look to be focusing on the FA Cup and Champions League. Crystal Palace have been one of the form teams in the division – only losing five times in their last 18 Premier League matches and they have climbed to 18th in the table as a result. Such was their disastrous start to the campaign, that they still sit in the relegation zone and are very much in relegation contention. Palace need points in their relegation scrap but Chelsea are a strong team and won’t roll over here with home support backing them.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match to nil ($2) BET NOW
Chelsea to win 2-0
00:30 Arsenal vs Watford – Emirates Stadium
In what had been a traumatic week for Arsenal, following defeats to Manchester City and Brighton they displayed real mental strength to defeat AC Milan on Thursday in the Europa League. The pressure on Arsene Wenger is still present due to the inconsistencies within Arsenal’s season, which have been alarming all campaign and as a result they have struggled to make an impact in any competition, with the Europa League being the only exception. The Gunners remain 6th – 13 points off the top 4 in the Premier League and have work to do to be playing Champions League football next term. Javi Gracia is looking keep his strong start to life in English football going as he travels across London in an attempt to continue to steady the ship. The Hornets are now 9th in the standings with 36 points to their name and wins over Everton and West Brom have propelled them towards safety. Arsenal are in horrid form in the Premier League and need a response, quickly against a strong Watford team.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match and both teams to score ($2.85) BET NOW
Arsenal to win 2-1
03:00 Bournemouth vs Tottenham – Vitality Stadium
Tottenham will be looking to avenge their Champions League disappointment as they travel to Bournemouth in a crucial game for their Champions League prospects for next season. Eddie Howe’s men sit 12th in the table with 33 points and Premier League safety looks a very achievable goal currently – having only lost one of their last 6 league games and will look to make life tough for Spurs here. Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are now out of the Champions League and can concentrate on the FA Cup and finishing in the top 4. They are 20 points off the pace in the Premier League and currently sit in 4th place in the Premier League, just inside the Champions League places with 9 league games still to play. This should be an entertaining game between two attacking sides but Spurs should possess too much quality in key areas.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both teams to score ($3.05) BET NOW
Tottenham to win 3-1
07:00 Stoke City vs Manchester City – Bet 365 Stadium
Stoke City ($15)
Manchester City ($1.25)
There looks to be no stopping City in the Premier League at the moment who currently sit 16 points clear but with Pep Guardiola at the helm the blues won’t be allowed to take their foot off the gas. Their FA Cup defeat to Wigan has blown their quadruple hopes but they are still one of the top teams in the country and have a realistic chance of winning 3 trophies this season having secured Champions League qualification this week too. Paul Lambert is yet to have the comprehensive approach Stoke fans may well have been hoping for and the Potters are very much in the relegation picture with only 9 games still to play. The Potters currently sit 19th in the table, with 27 points from 29 games and are currently a point adrift in the bottom three. The media have run out of superlatives for Manchester City who only need 4 more wins to secure the Premier League title and have amassed an incredible 78 points from 29 games played. Stoke will be up for this one on a cold Monday evening but Manchester City look too long in the tooth to slip up here.
