The Premier League title race is dominating the British sporting landscape, as Manchester City host Arsenal in what feels like a potential decider.
All looked to be done for the Gunners, who could have gone 12 points clear last weekend, only to falter at Bournemouth and see City overcome Chelsea on the road at Stamford Bridge.
Elsewhere, Tottenham’s plight looks set to continue, as they dropped into the Premier League relegation zone following a loss at Sunderland and the pressure is very much on in North London.
With big games in the race for the top five and the first ever Merseyside derby at the Hill Dickenson stadium on the horizon, this is a monumental week of Premier League action.
Here are our Premier League tips for the week ahead:
Brentford ($2.10)
Fulham ($3.35)
Draw ($3.75)
A West London derby lies in wait here, as Brentford and Fulham square off. The Bees continue to punch above their weight under Keith Andrews, and they look to be in a position to push on with their European football aspirations over the coming weeks. Fulham meanwhile came up short against Liverpool at Anfield, and they are a side that always seem to lack consistency under Marco Silva. With that in mind, Brentford should be backed to the hilt by home support here and they could squeeze over the line in this one.
Brentford to win 2-1
Leeds United ($1.60)
Wolves ($6.00)
Draw ($4.00)
Following a superb win on the road at Manchester United last time out, there is renewed belief amongst the Leeds United faithful that they can secure their Premier League status. Next up is a meeting with Wolves, a side that are preparing themselves for a return to the Championship and who are struggling a touch under Rob Edwards. Neither side has been in great form this season and this may not be a classic, but Leeds should get the job done.
Leeds United to win 2-0
Newcastle United ($2.00)
Bournemouth ($3.70)
Draw ($4.00)
It has been a tough few weeks for Newcastle, who welcome in-form Bournemouth to St James’s Park. Eddie Howe looks to be a manager under pressure, but he will be desperate to pick up a win over his former employers. For the Cherries meanwhile, backing up their superb win on the road at Arsenal will be their primary objective, as they continue to push on with their European football aspirations. This could be chaotic, with both sides preferring to play on the front foot and a score draw feels like the value bet.
2-2 Draw
Tottenham ($2.70)
Brighton ($2.50)
Draw ($3.90)
Panic is beginning to set in for Tottenham, who are currently two points adrift in the relegation zone and a meeting with Brighton awaits next. Spurs are struggling to demonstrate any sort of fluency and new manager Roberto de Zerbi has a serious task on his hands. For Brighton, this is a complete free hit, with mid-table safety assured and how they would love to put Spurs under even more pressure in this one. All three results are in play, but Brighton could have the superior confidence levels to come out on top.
Brighton to win 2-1
Chelsea ($2.50)
Manchester United ($2.80)
Draw ($3.70)
Two sides in the hunt for Champions League football next season meet here, as Chelsea host Manchester United. Chelsea were well beaten by Manchester City last time out and are now looking towards the FA Cup as their only realistic trophy hope this term. Manchester United meanwhile were cruising in their pursuit of third place, but a couple of poor results has left them back in the battle again. This could be a tight one, with United perhaps happy to settle for a draw and keep Chelsea at bay in the race for the top five.
1-1 Draw
Nottingham Forest ($1.50)
Burnley ($6.50)
Draw ($4.35)
Improvements have been monumental at Nottingham Forest of late and the Tricky Trees will be eager to push on here against struggling Burnley. Forest are in the mix in the Europa League and now have their Premier League safety very much in their own hands. Burnley meanwhile look to be in real strife under Scott Parker, with a return to the Championship imminent, unless they can conjure up some magic. Forest have the bit between their teeth though and should prevail at home here.
Nottingham Forest to win 2-0
Everton ($3.40)
Liverpool ($2.10)
Draw ($3.50)
The inaugural Merseyside derby at Everton’s new Hill Dickenson home should be a belter, as the blues welcome Liverpool across town. Recent results for Everton have been excellent, and they are firmly in the hunt to play European football next season under David Moyes. Liverpool’s season hinges on their Champions League tie with PSG and qualifying for the top five, with this game sure to have a big impact on that. Everton will be up for this one in front of their home fans and a draw feels the logical play.
1-1 Draw
Aston Villa ($1.65)
Sunderland ($5.90)
Draw ($4.30)
Momentum looks to be building for Aston Villa in their pursuit of Champions League football next term, and they take on Sunderland here. Villa are also in the mix in the Europa League too and Unai Emery continues to get the most out of his side across all competitions. Sunderland meanwhile have been excellent this term and their mid table position is reflective of just that. This should be a good game, with Sunderland sure to cause Villa problems but the hosts should pick up all three points.
Aston Villa to win 2-1
Manchester City ($1.85)
Arsenal ($4.20)
Draw ($3.75)
A potential title decider looks to be on the cards here, as Manchester City host Arsenal, in a huge game for both sides. City have roared back into title contention with a big win at Chelsea and they tend to have a habit of producing the goods at this point in the campaign. Arsenal meanwhile are faltering a touch but are still in control of their own destiny in the Champions League and the Premier League. City need to win but Arsenal are top of the table with good reason and could pick up a season defining draw here.
1-1 Draw
Crystal Palace ($2.30)
West Ham United ($3.30)
Draw ($3.50)
Crystal Palace will be eager to keep finishing the season strongly, as they welcome West Ham to Selhurst Park on Monday night. Change looks to be on the cards for Palace in the summer but finishing the campaign strongly will be key, especially with a Europa Conference League campaign to negotiate first. West Ham meanwhile are putting together a survival tilt, and they are beginning to pick up some important points. This could be cagey and both sides may settle for a draw.
1-1 Draw
