The final round of Premier League fixtures is upon us and there is still plenty to play for going into the final day. With Liverpool taking their first title in 30 years, Manchester City have settled for 2nd meaning Leicester, Chelsea and Manchester United will battle it out for the two remaining Champions League slots. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, Norwich have been relegated but two of Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Watford will also be slipping into the Championship. With so much at stake, it promises to be a fascinating final day of Premier League action.
Here are our picks for the final round of fixtures in the EPL:
EPL Week 38 Preview
Arsenal vs Watford – Emirates Stadium
Watford’s Premier League status is on the line as they travel across London to Arsenal. The Gunners picked up a famous win over Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend but their midweek defeat to Aston Villa was a reminder of their shortcomings. They currently sit 10th and will be looking to at least finish the campaign in the top half. Watford meanwhile will be hoping to pull off a relegation miracle, having sacked Nigel Pearson last week. Hayden Mullins couldn’t inspire his troops as they were hammered 4-0 by Manchester City in midweek, a result that has seen them slip into the bottom 3 on goal difference. It promises to be a cagey encounter, but Arsenal are good at home and should win this one.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($2) Bet Now
Arsenal to win 2-0
Burnley vs Brighton – Turf Moor
Two sides looking towards next season face off at Turf Moor as Burnley take on Brighton. The Clarets are 9th and have been in fine form all season under Sean Dyche. They are unbeaten in their last 7 Premier League games and are particularly prolific at home. Brighton meanwhile made absolutely sure of their Premier League status with a home draw with Newcastle last time out and Graham Potter will be keen to see his side kick on next term. Brighton will be buoyed by securing Premier League status, but Burnley are good at home and should win this one.
Betting tip: Burnley to win the match ($2.38) Bet Now
Burnley to win 2-1
Chelsea vs Wolves – Stamford Bridge
Chelsea will be looking to ensure they finish the day in the top 4 as they take on Wolves. The blues were involved in an 8-goal thriller with Liverpool in midweek but ultimately came up short. They sit 4th, level on points with Manchester United above them and finishing in the top 4 would constitute a decent season for Frank Lampard’s men. Wolves will also be looking to hold on to 6th place and a Europa League birth. They have been in superb form all season and their win over Crystal Palace last time out has left them in the driving seat with just one game to play. Wolves are an excellent side and are great party poopers, but Chelsea look to have plenty of fire power and could well prevail here.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match ($1.95) Bet Now
Chelsea to win 3-1
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($6.5)
Tottenham will be hoping to keep pressure on Wolves above them as they travel across London to Crystal Palace. The Eagles have lost their last six games, which has taken some momentum out of their season. They have slipped to 14th as a result and their defeat to Wolves in their last showing was particularly chastening. Spurs have endured a poor season by their standards, and they sit 7th in the table and look to be vying for a Europa League place this term. Three consecutive wins over Leicester City, Arsenal and Newcastle look to have pleased the passionate Spurs faithful and they will be hoping to build on the that here. Palace won’t roll over for Spurs, but the visitors should prevail comfortably enough here.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both teams to score ($2.5) Bet Now
Tottenham to win 3-1
Everton vs Bournemouth – Goodison Park
Bournemouth will be looking to continue their survival bid as they travel to Everton. Everton have been in decent form since the season restart and they showed real resilience to win 1-0 on the road at Sheffield United last time out. They sit 11th and can now only mathematically have aspirations of clinging on to that spot come the end of the campaign. The Cherries meanwhile have had a tough season and currently sit 3-points adrift in 19th. This is very much now or never for Eddie Howe’s side, who have endured some tough results and VAR calls. This should be an excellent game and a draw looks the most likely result, which will ultimately not be enough for Bournemouth.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.85) Bet Now
Leicester City vs Manchester United – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($3.25)
Manchester United ($2.3)
Leicester City and Manchester United will battle it out for a Champions League spot on the final day. The Foxes have slipped out of top 4 contention in recent weeks but are just a point adrift in 5th, knowing a win over United here would see them guarantee Champions League football next term. They have been in dreadful form of late however, epitomised by their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham last time out. Manchester United have been in great form since the season restart but their draw FA Cup defeat to Chelsea and draws with Southampton and West Ham in recent weeks have been cause for concern. They have climbed to 3rd in the table, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference in the race for a Champions League place next term and they will see this as a real opportunity. This should be a really good game which could end up as a draw, a result that suits United more so than Leicester.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.25) Bet Now
Manchester City vs Norwich City – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.11)
Norwich City ($41)
Norwich will be looking to finish their Premier League ordeal in style as they travel to Manchester City. The blues have surrendered their Premier League crown to Liverpool but have already won the Carabao Cup and are in Champions League contention too. They are guaranteed to finish 2nd and Pep Guardiola is already looking to rebuild for next season. Norwich’s painful stay in the top-flight is almost over and they have been in terrible form of late. They are yet to pick up a win since the season restart and look a team extremely low on confidence. Manchester City should have no issues here against a poor Norwich side.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match to nil ($1.45) Bet Now
Manchester City to win 3-0
Newcastle United vs Liverpool – St James’s Park
Newcastle United ($9)
Champions Liverpool will be looking to finish their season in style as they travel to Newcastle. Newcastle haven’t won any of their last 4 league games and look to be limping towards the season’s close. They will be looking to cling on to 13th place however with prize money on the line. Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy after beating Chelsea in midweek and have been the standout team this term. The reds can’t now surpass Manchester City’s 100 points record but have still enjoyed an incredible season. Liverpool haven’t been at their best since the season restart, but they should have enough to beat Newcastle here.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match and both teams to score ($2.35) Bet Now
Liverpool to win 3-1
Southampton vs Sheffield United – St Mary’s Stadium
Sheffield United ($3.4)
In-form Southampton host Sheffield United, with both sides looking to finish their strong seasons in style. Southampton sit 12th in the table and will be eying up a top 10 finish. They have been in superb nick since returning and they will be looking to build some momentum towards next season here. The Blades meanwhile have had a great season but their home defeat to Everton last time out has checked their progress. They sit 8th but look to have lost their race for a Europa League spot next season. This should be a tight game and a draw looks the most likely result.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5) Bet Now
West Ham United vs Aston Villa – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($3.3)
Aston Villa ($2.3)
Aston Villa will be hoping to pull off a great escape as they travel to West Ham. The Hammers were in a spot of bother but wins over Norwich, Chelsea and Watford in recent weeks have propelled them away from danger. They also picked up an excellent draw on the road at Manchester United in midweek and are looking good as next season approaches. Aston Villa meanwhile picked up an incredible win over Arsenal last time out to climb out of the bottom three with just one game to play. They know that a win here should be enough to keep them up and they look to be in the right frame of mind. This should be a nail-biter in East London, with a draw looking the most likely result.
