Manchester City’s 5-0 win over Liverpool stole the headlines in an entertaining set of EPL round 4 fixtures. City have joined cross city rivals United on 10 points – following the reds’ 2-2 draw away at Stoke. There were wins too for Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham whilst West Ham got their first win of the campaign on Monday night.
There has also been the first managerial casualty of the season – Frank de Boer paid the price for Crystal Palace’s failure to score or register any points in their first 4 games and Roy Hodgson has been appointed by the Eagles to save their season.
Here are our picks for the fifth round of fixtures in the Premier League:

05:00 Bournemouth vs Brighton – Vitality Stadium
Bournemouth are in desperate need of points and goals as they currently sit in 19th place in the league table. The fixture list hasn’t been particularly kind to Eddie Howe’s men as yet this term but they need to make the Vitality the fortress it has been for the last 2 Premier League seasons. Brighton travel across the South coast full of confidence, after comfortably dispatching of West Brom at home last week and Chris Hughton will be hoping his charges can put in a repeat performance here.
Bournemouth need the points and will see this as an opportunity to kick start their season.
Betting tip: Bournemouth to win and under 2.5 goals in the game ($4.05) BET NOW
Bournemouth to win 2-0
21:30 Crystal Palace vs Southampton – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($3.00)
Crystal Palace’s struggles have been well documented this term and Roy Hodgson will be keen to get off to a winning start on Saturday lunchtime. The 70 year old has not had a managerial role since England’s 2016 debacle and he has a lot to prove at Selhurst Park. He has a strong squad at Palace though and knows the Premier League inside out. Southampton have had an unremarkable start to life under Mauricio Pellegrino and will be feeling the need to get points on the board – in what looks like a tricky tie.
Palace were very unlucky to lose at Burnley last week and should bounce back here.
Betting tip: Crystal Palace to win and Christian Benteke to score anytime ($8.93) BET NOW
Crystal Palace to win 2-1
15:00 Huddersfield vs Leicester City – The John Smith’s Stadium
Leicester City ($2.25)
Huddersfield’s dream start was abruptly halted by West Ham on Monday night and it will be interesting to see if David Wagner’s men can get back to winning ways. The Terriers will still be delighted with their 7 points from 3 games but this looks like their sternest Premier League test so far. Leicester’s fixtures have been very difficult and they’ve performed admirably in 3 defeats to Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea – the form of Jamie Vardy will be a big positive for the Foxes too.
These are the games Leicester will need to win in order to compete for a top half finish in the Premier League this season.
Betting tip: Leicester to win and both teams to score ($4.75) BET NOW
Leicester to win 3-1
00:00 Liverpool vs Burnley – Anfield
It’s been a difficult week for Liverpool who were well in the game against Manchester City before Sadio Mane’s red card at the Etihad. What will be more concerning for Jurgen Klopp is his side’s defensive record lately – they’ve conceded 7 goals in 2 games this week (0-5 at City and a 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League) and need to sure things up at the back. Burnley have had a wonderful start to the season – picking up 7 points from 4 games which included trips to Chelsea and Tottenham and they’ll be looking to emulate those performances here.
Liverpool have had a tough week but should come good against the Clarets.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals in the match ($2.13) BET NOW
Liverpool to win 3-0
00:00 Watford vs Manchester City – Vicarage Road
Manchester City ($1.36)
Two unbeaten Premier League records go on the line on Saturday, as Manchester City travel to North London to take on in-form Watford. City have had a sensational week, beating Liverpool 5-0 and following that up with a superb display at Feyenoord in the Champion’s League – winning 4-0 – and they will be desperate to keep their good run going here. Watford are sitting pretty in 4th place in the table and Marco Silva would love to keep that form going against a dangerous City side.
This could be closer than it should be ‘on paper’, but City seem to be playing too well at the moment.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the game Gabriel Jesus to score anytime ($2.48) BET NOW
Manchester City to win 3-1
00:00 West Brom vs West Ham – The Hawthorns
West Brom ($2.25)
West Ham ($3.20)
Tony Pulis looks to have a very strong squad at his disposal following a busy transfer window for the Baggies. The acquisition of Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig looks inspired and he now looks to have the perfect blend of youth and experience – despite their defeat to Brighton last week. Things are looking rosy for Slavan Bilic too who got his first league win of the season against Huddersfield on Monday night and with West Ham hovering towards the foot of the table – he’d love to collect 3 more points here.
This could be a very close match between two evenly matched teams.
Betting tip: Both teams to score and the match to end as a draw ($4.5) BET NOW
00:00 Newcastle United vs Stoke City – St James’s Park
Newcastle United ($2.40)
Stoke City ($3.25)
Following back to back wins, Newcastle look full of confidence and Rafa Benitez will be delighted with what he’s seen. Their gritty 1-0 win at Swansea was epitomised by Jamal Lescelles’ goal line clearance then subsequent winning goal and the skipper looks to be a very important figure for the Magpies. Stoke’s admirable draw with Manchester United won them many plaudits and if it wasn’t for David de Gea’s brilliance in the Manchester United goal, the Potters could have won it.
This should be a real battle between two teams that should be full of confidence.
Betting tip: Under 2.5 goals in the game ($1.80) BET NOW
00:00 Tottenham vs Swansea City – Wembley Stadium
Swansea City ($15)
Spurs managed to get rid of their Wembley hoodoo with an impressive 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday evening. Prior to that they dispatched of Everton at Goodison Park and Spurs fans will be delighted to see Harry Kane back in the goals for his club (4 in his last 2 games). Swansea were unlucky to lose to Newcastle on Sunday and controlled the game for long periods without hurting the Toon. Paul Clement will be hoping his summer signings start to integrate into the squad soon – otherwise he could be embroiled in another relegation scrap.
Spurs need a home Premier League win and should get it here.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win and keep a clean sheet ($2.20) BET NOW
Tottenham to win 3-0
02:30 Chelsea vs Arsenal – Stamford Bridge
One of the ultimate Premier League rivalries re-ignites on Sunday as Chelsea face Arsenal. Chelsea have bounced back from early season speculation and an opening day defeat to win their last 3 league games and scored 6 in the Champions League on Tuesday. Arsenal got back to winning ways against Bournemouth last week and the form of Danny Welbeck is sure to delight the Gunners faithful – it will be interesting to see how they cope with Europa League commitments this season – which starts on Thursday against FC Koln.
This should be the game of the weekend and Chelsea should just have too much quality for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win and Alvaro Morata to score anytime – ($3.62) BET NOW
Chelsea to win 2-0
01:00 Manchester United vs Everton – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($1.40)
Table toppers, Manchester United dropped points for the first time this season against Stoke but bounced back with a strong win in the Champions League against FC Basel. The injury to Paul Pogba will be a concern for Jose Mourinho as he’s been one of the star performers during their unbeaten run. Everton have had some tough fixtures so far this season but have spent big in order to be able to compete at a higher level. The manner of their defeat to Tottenham will raise concerns for Ronald Koeman and he may look to make changes against United. Wayne Rooney returns to United since his summer departure whilst Romelu Lukaku faces his former employers too.
Everton are no pushovers but United should have too much at Old Trafford.
Betting tip: Romelu Lukaku to score against his former club and Manchester United to win ($2.64) BET NOW
Manchester United to win 2-0
