Liverpool maintained their 100% start to their Premier League season with a hard fought win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City kept pace with a staggering 8-0 demolition of Watford whilst problems continue to mount for Tottenham and Manchester United who lost to Leicester City and West Ham United respectively. Arsenal overcame Aston Villa to ease the pressure on Unai Emery but the pressure is starting to mount on Marco Silva whose Everton side lost to Sheffield United at Goodison Park.
Here are our picks for the seventh round of fixtures in the Premier League:
Sheffield United vs Liverpool – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($10.5)
Sheffield United host Liverpool to kick off the Premier League programme and they will be hoping to kick on from their remarkable victory over Everton. Chris Wilder’s men have taken to top-flight football and they will be relishing the chance to take on the league leaders in front of their home fans. Liverpool showed real resilience to bounce back from their defeat to Napoli as they sneaked past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out and they will be eager to go 8 points clear of the pack here. Sheffield United are sure to be bang up for this and could trouble Liverpool but the reds should pick up the win here.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match and both teams to score ($2.05) – Bet Now
Liverpool to win 3-1
Aston Villa vs Burnley – Villa Park
Aston Villa ($2.38)
Aston Villa host Burnley as they look to get over last week heartbreaking defeat at Arsenal. The Villains twice led in the match but saw the Gunners come back to clinch a 3-2 win in the dying embers of the game. Dean Smith’s men have impressed at home though and should be bang up for this one. Burnley meanwhile made light work of Norwich last time out and have only lost to Arsenal and Liverpool in the league this season. Sean Dyche’s men will arrive in the West Midlands full of confidence and could use their Premier League knowhow to get a result here.
Betting tip: Burnley to win the match ($3.18) – Bet Now
Burnley to win 2-1
Bournemouth vs West Ham United – Vitality Stadium
West Ham United ($2.75)
Two sides in great form face off on the South Coast as Bournemouth host West Ham United. The Cherries were in fine fettle last time out as they beat rivals Southampton on the road and they will be looking to carry on that form at the Vitality here. West Ham meanwhile picked up an excellent 2-0 win over Manchester United and Manuel Pellegrini’s men have climbed up to 5th place in the Premier League table. Both managers possess a potent attacking philosophy and goals look guaranteed between two good sides that could well share the points here.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both team to score ($5.15) – Bet Now
Chelsea vs Brighton – Stamford Bridge
Chelsea host Brighton as they look to build on their decent showing against Liverpool last time out. Frank Lampard’s men ultimately came up short against the reds but showed glimpses of quality and their goal threat continues to impress as they look to climb the table quickly. For Brighton, they will see this as a free hit at Stamford Bridge and with Graham Potter’s men unbeaten in their last two fixtures; they will come into this one with a degree of confidence. Brighton should make life awkward for Chelsea but the blues should pick up a comfortable three points in this one.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match and both team to score ($2.35) – Bet Now
Chelsea to win 3-1
Crystal Palace vs Norwich City – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($2)
Norwich City ($3.94)
Crystal Palace will be looking to continue their decent start to the season as they welcome Norwich City to Selhurst Park. Roy Hodgson’s men were seconds away from another win last time out but saw Wolves peg them back in the dying embers. Palace look to have a good team ethic and playing formula this term and are sitting pretty in 12th place currently. Norwich meanwhile can’t seem to generate any consistency, beating Manchester City at home before losing to Burnley away last time out. Norwich have yet to pick up a point on the road this season and Palace could well have too much fire power for them.
Betting tip: Crystal Palace to win the match ($2) – Bet Now
Crystal Palace to win 3-1
Tottenham vs Southampton – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham host Southampton as their problems under Mauricio Pochettino continue to mount. Spurs went down 2-1 to Leicester City last time out in the league before being knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of League Two side Colchester United in an alarming result in midweek. Southampton meanwhile had no such problems in the Carabao Cup against local rivals Portsmouth but their inconsistencies in the league will be a concern for their fans currently. The atmosphere at Spurs could turn nasty if things don’t go Tottenham’s way and whilst Southampton will be difficult to breakdown, Tottenham should get back to winning ways here.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both team to score ($2) – Bet Now
Tottenham to win 3-1
Wolves vs Watford – Molineux
Two sides still seeking their first wins of the season face off in the West Midlands as Wolves face Watford. Wolves showed real spirit last time out to get a point at Crystal Palace with 10 men but their form is alarming this term and their Europa League campaign looks to be having an effect on the squad. Watford meanwhile sit bottom of the table and were embarrassed last time out by a rampant Manchester City – losing 8-0. Their Carabao Cup win in midweek over Swansea could give them some confidence but they know they will need to be at their best to get anything here. This could be a tight game between two sides low on confidence and it could end up honours even at Molineux.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.64) – Bet Now
Everton vs Manchester City – Goodison Park
Manchester City ($1.33)
Everton host defending champions Manchester City with the pressure mounting on manager Marco Silva. The manner of their league defeat to Sheffield United last time out was concerning and the Toffees are currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table. Manchester City meanwhile have responded well to their defeat at Norwich by winning their last three games – scoring 14 unanswered goals in the process and Pep Guardiola’s men look to be warming to the challenge in front of them this season. The atmosphere under the lights at Goodison Park will be electric and Everton will trouble City but the sky blues should have enough about them here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match and both teams to score ($2.15) – Bet Now
Manchester City to win 2-1
Leicester City vs Newcastle United – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($1.53)
Newcastle United ($7.6)
High-flying Leicester City welcome Newcastle to the King Power Stadium in what promises to be an intriguing Super Sunday battle. The Foxes are in fine form, sitting 3rd in the Premier League table and the manner of their performance at home to Tottenham last time out will be a real cause for optimism in the East Midlands. Newcastle meanwhile have only managed one win as yet this season and look to be struggling a little under the stewardship of Steve Bruce. The Toon will be eager to keep things tight here but with Leicester’s wealth of attacking options, they should have too much about them for the Magpies here.
Betting tip: Leicester City to win the match to nil ($2.95) – Bet Now
Manchester United vs Arsenal – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($2.38)
Two sides hoping to push for the Champions League places face off at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Arsenal. The Red Devils have only managed 2 wins this season in the Premier League, both of which came at home but the manner of their defeat to West Ham last time out is a huge concern for all at Old Trafford. Arsenal meanwhile showed real resilience last time out to beat Aston Villa with 10 men and the Gunners look to have a strong attacking philosophy under Unai Emery. This should be the tie of the round under the lights at Old Trafford and it could well end up honours even between two well matched sides.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.82) – Bet Now
