2021 F1 British Grand Prix – Tips, Predictions & Odds

Venue: Silverstone, England

Race Date: 18th July 2021

With a 32-point gap in the Driver’s Championship, Max Verstappen looks to have the Formula 1 World title in his hands but he and everyone else on the grid will know how foolish it would be to discard Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes man has endured a tough year thus far, as has team mate Valtteri Bottas, who’s future with the team looks to be increasingly under scrutiny. Sergio Perez is playing the perfect foil for Verstappen, as both men have tasted victory for Red Bull this season whilst Lando Norris will be hoping home advantage could inspire his McLaren team here at Silverstone.

Formula 1 British Grand Prix Predictions

F1 Austrian Grand Prix Race Winner

The halfway point of the 2021 Formula One season is almost upon us and with plenty of racing still to be done, it promises to be a thrilling battle at Silverstone:

Max Verstappen – $1.80

Back to back wins in Austria have propelled Max Verstappen into unchartered territory and the Dutchman will be hoping to keep the pressure on Lewis Hamilton in the Drivers’ Championship. With a 32 point lead following the Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen could take some catching, but he will be all too aware of the magnitude of what is at stake here and he is yet to win the British Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton – $2.85

7-time winner of both the British Grand Prix and the Formula One world title loves racing at Silverstone, a circuit he has raced at throughout his career. He will be hoping it kick starts a revival as some errors of his own and some outstanding performances from Verstappen have left him with plenty of work to do in the race for the Driver’s Championship. He will know from years of experience to call upon that this title race is far from over though and he will be doing all he can to clinch another British Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas – $13.00

With his place within the Mercedes set up coming into question, Valtteri Bottas is a man under pressure, and he will need a performance here at the British Grand Prix. Such has been Hamilton’s dominance at this race track that Bottas has never won this race for Mercedes, but he too knows Silverstone inside out due to Mercedes’ heritage within the UK racing scene. Youngster George Russell has been tipped by many to be Bottas’s replacement and he will be doing all he can to keep the wolves at bay this week.

Sergio Perez – $15.00

With a win under his belt already this season, Mexican Sergio Perez will be looking to keep up his pursuit of third place in the Driver’s Championship. Team mate Max Verstappen has deservedly been picking up all the plaudits, thanks to his incredible run of performances this season but Perez has been doing a stellar job at supporting him and occupying both Mercedes drivers. This will be another chance for ‘Checo’ to showcase his talents and he could go well here at Silverstone.

F1 British Grand Prix First Driver to Retire

Silverstone is one of the most iconic race tracks in Formula One and every racer will be doing all they can to avoid trouble from the off here at the British Grand Prix:

Mick Schumacher – $12.00

Following in his father’s footsteps has taken longer than many have expected for Mick Schumacher, who has endured a relatively tough rookie season so far for Haas. They are one of the only teams without a point as, yet this season and the young German could get caught up in trouble from the off at Silverstone.

Yuki Tsunoda – $12.00

Japanese youngster Yuki Tsunoda has been hugely impressive for Alpha-Tauri this season, but his results are currently trending negatively. With pace to burn, Tsunoda looks to be a real prospect for the future, but Silverstone is an awkward proposition and Tsunoda looks to be a candidate to retire first at the British Grand Prix.

F1 British Grand Prix Top Six Finish

It is heading towards crunch time in the 2021 Formula One season and all of the big hitters on the grid will be desperate to register decent points at the British Grand Prix:

Lando Norris – $1.36

McLaren’s Lando Norris is sitting pretty in fourth in the Driver’s Championship, and he could be one to look out for here. He is starting to consistently piece together impressive drives and with local knowledge here at Silverstone, he could well contest for podium places.

Charles Leclerc – $1.50

Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have shown flashes of brilliance this year, without being able to turn that into points on the board. The man from Monaco prefers traditional track layouts and Silverstone should suit his driving style perfectly this weekend.

Sebastien Vettel – $11.00

A somewhat left field selection but Sebastien Vettel notoriously loves the British Grand Prix and with a surprise podium finish already under his belt this season, the German has absolutely nothing to lose as he arrives at Silverstone this year.
