Venue: Miami International Autodrome, Miami, Florida, USA.
Race Date: 3rd May 2026
The global Formula 1 calendar was put on hold over the past month, but the truncated season continues here in Miami.
With F1 at an all-time high in popularity across the United States, Miami has quickly become one of the flagship events on the schedule.
2026 has been all about Mercedes thus far, who have been utterly dominant in each of the three races run and both George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will be leading the field here.
Max Verstappen’s troubles at Red Bull have been relatively well documented, while defending champion Lando Norris has also had some teething issues this term with McLaren.
Miami will bring all the glitz and the glamour anybody could expect at a F1 race, and it should be a lightning fast return to action.

All teams have had plenty of time to prepare for this one in Miami and it should be a fascinating week in Florida:
It has been a blistering start to the season for George Russell and Mercedes, with this weekend feeling particularly significant for their seasonal aspirations. The Brit has been banging on the door for a couple of seasons but now appears to have the car and the resources to go all the way this term. He has a target on his back here in Miami, something he hasn’t been too used to, but he has plenty of confidence in his driving and speed in the tank.
Similarly, Kimi Antonelli is really beginning to look the part for Mercedes and the young Italian looks set to push Russell in every department over the coming weeks. Antonelli’s talent has been unquestioned for a couple of seasons, but he now looks to have car and a mentality to push on with his title aspirations. Keeping the chasing pack at bay will be his principal aim but he should firmly be in the mix for a race win too.
Arguably the forgotten man coming into this season, Oscar Piastri will be eager to kick on over the coming weeks for McLaren, as they look to claw back a deficit in the driver’s and constructor’s championship. Piastri’s consistency in recent times has set him apart for McLaren and the young Aussie clearly has the hunger and desire to compete at the very sharp end of Formula 1. Conditions should suit him here in Miami and he could sneak under the radar somewhat.
F1 Miami Grand Prix Top Six Finish
This weekend in Florida should be a big one for plenty of teams and points are up for grabs across the board: –
Ferrari have been finding their feet impressively this term and Lewis Hamilton is at the forefront of that. The Brit has demonstrated a renewed optimism about his driving this season and cracking the top six feels within reach for him here in Miami.
Defending champion Lando Norris is the man to beat in every race and he will be looking to generate some momentum into his campaign. He finished fifth in Japan, which felt like a small stepping stone, and he should be in amongst it again here in Miami.
Dutchman Max Verstappen has dominated the headlines so far this term, for his apparent fallout of love with F1 but for now he remains key cog in the Red Bull team. Form has eluded him and pace appears non-existent in the car, but Verstappen can never be properly written off.
