Venue: Circuit de Monaco
Race Date: 23rd May 2021
After its absence from the Formula One calendar last season, purists will be delighted to see the return of the Monaco Grand Prix in 2021. The F1 season is hotting up, with defending champion Lewis Hamilton the man to catch whilst the likes of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas sure to be in hot pursuit all campaign long. The road race in Monaco is one of the biggest events on the sporting calendar and whilst there won’t be the throngs of people in attendance, worldwide interest is sure to be at fever pitch for arguably the biggest race of the season. All of the biggest names in F1 have won at Monaco, ranging from Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna through to Sterling Moss and Niki Lauda and with so much on the line here in Monaco, it should be a memorable weekend of F1 racing.
Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix Predictions
F1 Monaco Grand Prix Race Winner
With only 4 races completed in the 2021 Formula One season, it is still very much early days for some of the biggest teams on the grid in the principality here: –
Max Verstappen – $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dutchman Max Verstappen started the season in great nick and has yet to finish any race below second this year. Red Bull have a seriously quick car and in Verstappen, they look to have one of the best drivers on the grid in their ranks – they just need to start turning potential into results on a more consistent basis. Verstappen has never won this race and how he would love to rectify that here.
Lewis Hamilton – $2.38 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Despite seemingly not having the fastest car on the grid, seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has been in imperious form once again in 2021 and his win at the Spanish Grand Prix last time out was a timely reminder of his talents. He always relishes any challenge put in front of him and whilst he isn’t prolific at the Monaco Grand Prix, he has won the race three times previously.
Valtteri Bottas – $11.00 – Bet @ Sportsbet
With back-to-back podiums, there are signs that Valtteri Bottas is getting somewhere near his best once more and he will be hoping to do his bit for Mercedes over the next few weeks. Lewis Hamilton is of course the priority for the team but if Bottas can keep putting pressure on the Red Bull cars, it should make Hamilton’s job easier, and he of course can never be discarded either. He is another man that has yet to win a Monaco Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez – $15.00 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Mexican Sergio Perez is one of the most natural drivers on the grid and he is looking to start putting some points on the board for his new Red Bull team. Whilst a podium finish has as yet eluded him, he is a quality operator, and he should relish the driving conditions here in Monaco this week – provided he can stay out of any trouble.
F1 Monaco Grand Prix First Driver to Retire
The Monaco Grand Prix is always a magnificent spectacle but as one of the most unique tracks around, avoiding trouble will be the priority for most drivers:-
Nikita Mazepin – $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Haas and their new Russian driver Nikita Mazepin have endured a horrible start to the 2021 Formula One season and the lack of control Mazepin appears to have behind the wheel, makes him a real candidate to bomb out early here – especially in the infamously tricky driving conditions in Monaco.
Nicholas Latifi – $13.00 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Williams are still battling away at their car this year and Nicholas Latifi tends to draw the short straw. The Canadian is a solid driver but with congestion guaranteed early on in Monaco and the road race providing a unique set of challenges, Latifi could struggle this weekend.
F1 Monaco Grand Prix Top Six Finish
2021 presents a golden opportunity to many drivers in Formula One to make a name for themselves and they will all be looking to do that from the outset here at the Monaco Grand Prix:-
Charles Leclerc – $1.33 – Bet @ Sportsbet
In his home Grand Prix, few drivers know the Monaco circuit better than Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari man is one of the most exciting prospects in Formula One and with a couple of top 4 finishes already this season, he will be eager to be amongst the points again here.
Carlos Sainz – $1.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ferrari look to have a decent car this season and whilst they haven’t hit the podium points as yet this year, Monaco is a track they have fond memories of, and Carlos Sainz is a driver that looks to be coming to terms with the weight of expectation.
Daniel Riccardo – $2.75 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Australian Daniel Riccardo is a former winner at the Monaco Grand Prix and whilst his McLaren car doesn’t appear to be the fastest on the grid, he has plenty of track knowledge.
F1 Monaco Grand Prix Best Bets:
Race Winner: Lewis Hamilton – $2.38 – Bet @ Sportsbet
First Driver to Retire: Nikita Mazepin – $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Top Six Finish: Charles Leclerc – $1.33 – Bet @ Sportsbet
