Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:38) Tab Long May We Play C3 (1000m)
#6 – Le Palmier @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Le Palmier was the beaten favourite at Doomben last start but we’re prepared to give him another chance.
The four-year-old was coming off a dominant trial win and he floundered in the wet ground over the concluding stages.
Trainer Tony Gollan should have him humming for this race so give him another chance.
Race 2. (12:13) Mount Franklin 0MW (1600m)
#3 – One For Betty @ $2.20 – Bet Now
One For Betty is going for three consecutive wins and given her form this preparation, we’re not backing against her.
The daughter of All Too Hard scored by 1.3 lengths at Eagle Farm two back and she followed that up with a win at Sunshine Coast.
Having winning form on this track is important and she should go well.
Race 3. (12:48) Gallopers Sports Club Plate (1200m)
#2 – Acrobatic @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Acrobatic showed a fine turn-of-foot to score against similar opposition at Eagle Farm last start and he could win again.
The Kelly Schweida-trained son of Snitzel scored by 1.5 lengths as a $25 chance and he will be shorter with bookmakers this time around.
He is a capable sprinter and the big field suits his running pattern.
Race 4. (13:23) XXXX Dry BM72 (1200m)
#4 – Endless River @ $9 – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old gelding that has won his last two starts. He scored by just under a length at Gold Coast last start and it should be a good form guide.
He is a son of Showcasing that has faced harder fields throughout his career and all three wins came over this distance.
Punters should expect another top effort on Saturday.
Race 5. (14:02) Tab Long May We Play Quality (1400m)
#7 – Supergiant @ $6 – Bet Now
Supergiant is a quality type that won at Group 3 level when last in work. The four-year-old defeated a quality field at Eagle Farm before running second since.
The son of Red Giant is well-placed in this race with 54kg and although the opposition is smart, he could be better.
The Candy Man will dominate headlines but don’t forget about Supergiant.
Race 6. (14:42) BRC Membership Renewal BM78 (2200m)
#8 – Flash Ash @ $12 – Bet Now
Flash Ash faces a rise in class for this race but he is a four-time winner from only six starts.
The five-year-old won at Gold Coast last start, where he made good ground in the straight to overhaul the leaders.
The big track at Eagle Farm is ideal and punters are getting juicy odds.
Race 7. (15:22) Millers Swim School BM80 (1400m)
#10 – Love Struck @ $4.20 – Bet Now
The five-year-old gelding has won three of his last four starts and it’s tough to ignore that form.
He won by 1.5 lengths at Eagle Farm last start, which was his first success from five attempts at this track.
He is well-weighted and ready to strike again.
Race 8. (16:02) Souths Sports Club C6 (1200m)
#10 – Desert Lord @ $1.80 – Bet Now
Desert Lord has the clear class edge on this field, which is why bookmakers opened him as the short favourite.
The David Vandyke-trained gelding is a four-time winner in Sydney and he has been contesting group races.
That form is superb for this race and carrying only 56kg is a steal.
Race 9. (16:38) Ascot Green Handicap (1825m)
#8 – The Kingdom @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The Kingdom’s form coming into this race has been mixed but he is talented on his day. He won at Eagle Farm two back, which was his fifth win from seven attempts at Eagle Farm.
The son of Animal Kingdom is unbeaten in three starts at this track and distance, so he demands respect and the value odds are there.
Take the $5.50 as it should shorten throughout the week.
