Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:23) Magic Millions Basil Nolan 2YO (1000m)
#1 – The Drinks Cart @ $3.20 – Bet Now
It was an impressive debut win for The Drinks Cart and we’re confident he can run well again.
The Edmonds-trained two-year-old scored by 1.3 lengths at Gold Coast and he’s bred to show early speed.
Getting an inside draw should see him land on the speed and be too strong in the run to the line.
$3.20 is a fair price.
Race 2. (12:58) Memberships at BRC C6 (1000m)
#4 – Dream Master @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Dream Master is an ultra-consistent runner which has had a win and seven placings from his last nine starts.
The only non-result was when he lost the rider in August. He responded immediately by winning at Gold Coast and has since run three quality races.
Punters are getting great odds for the son of Dream Ahead and he should be able to run well at each-way odds again.
Race 3. (13:33) Qtis City to Surf Plate (1600m)
#1 – Guntantes @ $1.65 – Bet Now
Punters will have to take short odds around Guntantes but he should be too good for this field.
The Robert Heathcote-trained three-year-old was won consecutive races coming into this and his most recent win came by 3.3 lengths.
He has turned a corner this season and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him rise through the grades with ease.
Gets a good run from the draw and Robbie Fradd rides.
Race 4. (14:12) Tab BM80 (2206m)
#8 – Picka Plum @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Picka Plum was good enough to five consecutive wins earlier this season and it’s tough to ignore that form.
The Jenkins-trained mare has had two runs since and she held her own nicely. Her most recent run came at Sunshine Coast where she ran second.
Punters are getting value odds and we’re expecting that price to shorten come race day.
Race 5. (14:52) Grand Prix Stakes (2206m)
#5 – Chains of Honour @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Gerald Ryan lines up the promising stayer that has won two his three career starts.
He’s a well-bred son of Redoute’s Choice and is coming off a 1.8-length win at Hawkesbury over 1800m.
His only defeat came behind a tough field at Randwick and we’re prepared to overlook that result. He has strengthened up since and should be tough to hold out here.
Barrier two is ideal and he’ll get a sweet run throughout.
Race 6. (15:32) Girls Day Out Raceday C3 (1200m)
#13 – Mandela @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Mandela has a big reputation and he could return from a spell with a top performance this Saturday.
Trained by the Snowdens, the three-year-old has a win and a placing from four starts and that win came at Randwick against a hot field.
He has had two trials to prepare for his return and although drawing barrier 10 isn’t ideal, he has the obvious class edge over most of this field.
Race 7. (16:12) Hamilton Hotel C6 (1400m)
#1 – Cruze @ $6 – Bet Now
The five-year-old scored a good win fresh up at Gold Coast before running well enough at Eagle Farm last start.
He is a professional winner of six from 23 starts and he usually stays in form. He scored three wins in a four-race stretch last campaign.
Securing the inside draw should see him settle closer to the pace than usual. From there, he can show his customary turn-of-foot in the straight.
Race 8. (16:52) Magic Millions Falvelon Quality (1200m)
#4 – Spurcraft @ $2.70 – Bet Now
There is no reason to jump off the back of Spurcraft, which continues to perform at a high level.
The lightly-tried six-year-old has raced 14 times for nine wins and five minor placings. That includes a win at Doomben last start, which came by almost three lengths.
He’s supremely underrated and although facing stiffer opposition this time around, we’re confident he can measure up as he hasn’t shown otherwise yet.
$2.70 is about as short as we would recommend taking.
Race 9. (17:32) Racing Queensland Provincial Final (1300m)
#7– Love Squirrels @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Love Squirrels wasn’t far behind the winner at Sunshine Coast last start and she could go closer here.
She was a winner fresh up at Sunshine Coast by a narrow margin and she followed that up with a placing.
This will be her first start at Eagle Farm but the big track should suit nicely.
