Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:15) Tab Venue Mode Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Hinchbeast @ $4.40 – Bet Now

Hinchbeast was beaten last start but certainly not disgraced. He had to do a lot of work in front and still kicked back late to finish third.

It was a credible performance from the talented colt and he showed his blistering pace when scoring on debut at Rosehill.

Gets his first look at Randwick but that shouldn’t worry him and punters are getting value odds in early markets.

Race 2. (13:50) Schweppes BM72 (1400m)

#10 – Twentyfour Carat @ $6 – Bet Now

John O’Shea lines up the three-year-old colt which ran second at Randwick last start and could go one better here.

The son of I Am Invincible gets in light with only 53kg on his back and that should bring him right into contention.

Drawing barrier two helps and we’re expecting a solid run at each-way odds.

Race 3. (14:25) Tab Highway Handicap (1300m)

#6 – Eiger @ $5 – Bet Now

Eiger scored back-to-back wins to open his account before running second at Scone last start.

He didn’t have all favours in the run last start so we’re prepared to forgive that effort and go on his prior wins.

The son of Dream Ahead gets a tough draw here but he’s better than most in this field and punters are getting a great opening price.

Race 4. (15:00) Bisley Workwear BM88 (2000m)

#6 – Guise @ $4.60 – Bet Now

Guise is coming off a tough win at Rosehill when beating Fun Fact right on the line.

The Chris Waller-trained mare has won five of her 10 starts and somehow drops in weight from 56kg to 53.5kg.

That’s a great asset to have here and she’s another value runner for punters.

Race 5. (15:40) December Handicap (1400m)

#5– Smartedge @ $3.90 – Bet Now

Smartedge was defeated at Rosehill last start but he made good ground in the straight and shouldn’t be overlooked here.

The five-year-old gelding got too far back in the run so punters should expect Tommy Berry to settle much closer this time around.

He’s a quality animal for Team Snowden and we’re expecting to see him fighting out the finish once again here.

$3.90 is a fair price and carrying 54.5kg is ideal.

Race 6. (16:20) Sky Racing Active BM78 (1000m)

#5 – Spiritual Pursuit @ $5.50 – Bet Now

Spiritual Pursuit returns after showing plenty of ability in the autumn. The Jason Coyle-trained mare is a three-time winner from nine starts and she also has three placings.

The daughter of Snitzel has been prepared with a trial placing at Kembla Grange and although she has drawn wide, she has good barrier pace.

Expect her to roll forward from that barrier and be a winning chance at generous odds.

Race 7. (17:00) Heineken 3 BM78 (1400m)

#4 – Word For Word @ $2.65 – Bet Now

Word For Word is a highly thought of four-year-old which did enough last start to warrant attention.

She’s a daughter of So You Think that has finished in the money in six of her seven starts and should be competitive here.

Strong money has come for her throughout the week after opening at $3.30 and we’re expecting more money to come.

Nash Rawiller is riding in good form and that helps.

Race 8. (17:40) Ranvet BM88 (1200m)

#9 – Taniko @ $5.50 – Bet Now

James Cummings lines up the five-year-old mare that has five wins from 18 starts and is worth a play in this.

She wasn’t all that far away from them when running third at Rosehill last start and she gets into this race nicely on the weights.

Carrying 55.5kg should bring her into contention and it’s another quality ride for Tommy Berry.

Race 9. (18:20) Hyland Boxing Day Sale BM78 (1600m)

#5 – Spencer @ $6 – Bet Now

Spencer is a five-time winner which scored at Rosehill two back and followed up with a handy run last start.

The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding was only two lengths behind the winner last time out and he’ll get every chance from an inside draw.

Nash Rawiller takes the ride and he should give him a good ride.
