South Korea vs. Czechia Preview

Following the fanfare of the opening game between Mexico and South Africa, both South Korea and Czechia will be looking to make their moves in Group A, as they meet in Zapopan.

Both sides have enjoyed a degree of success in major tournaments of late, but they are unknown entities as they square off here, with very little between the two sides on paper.

Finishing fourth as hosts in 2002 remains South Korea’s best World Cup result, while Czechia have reached their first World Cup finals proper in two decades.

Here is a look ahead to South Korea vs Czechia:

Best Bet

The match to finish as a draw @ $3.50

A glance at the pre-match odds shows how close bookmakers expect this one to be in Zapopan and all three results are very much in play.

South Korea tend to be industrious and hard to beat at major tournaments, with captain Son Heung-min remaining their talisman well into his 30’s.

For Czechia, this is the first time this generation of players have reached the World Cup, having shown up pretty well at the last few European Championships.

Stylistically, this could be a fascinating watch and with some real quality in both squads, this one could wind up as a draw.

Same Game Multi Bet

Draw & both teams to score @ $4.75

Alongside South Africa and co-hosts Mexico in Group A, both South Korea and Czechia will fancy their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds – especially with the potential for third place teams to sneak through.

This opening game will be a chance for both sides to put their best feet forward and get their campaigns up and running.

It may not be a goal fest in Zapopan, but both sides have the firepower to find the back of the net and a score draw looks to be the good value play.

Best Value Bet

A penalty to be awarded in the match @ $3.50

Cagey encounters like this are often decided by one or two key moments and both strike forces have canny operators in their ranks.

The aforementioned Son Heung-min continues to bang the goals in for MLS side LAFC and his presence at this World Cup feels significant.

Czechia meanwhile will be looking to Patrick Schick for goal scoring prowess, a man that always tends to step on the biggest occasions.

With both men very shrewd in goal scoring positions, they, along with their team mates look decent candidates to win a spot kick at some point in this one.
