3M Open Golf Predictions

2021 3M Open Winner – Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson lost his top world golf ranking to Jon Rahm last week and he’ll be keen to get it back.

The American recorded a top 10 finish at The Open Championship, and although he was never in contention to win, it suggests that he’s getting back to his best form.

He hasn’t won since winning the 2020 Masters in November, which is a long time between drinks for the 24-time winner. Johnson has been struggling off the tee, which has seen him slip to 143rd in driving accuracy.

Despite those poor numbers, he ranks second in scoring average on the PGA Tour, which shows how classy the 37-year-old is.

He is the only player quoted at single figure odds and we’re prepared to take the $7.50. It’s a fair price and he should give punters a good sight against this field.

Bet: Dustin Johnson @ $7.50Bet @ Sportsbet

2021 3M Open Next Best – Tony Finau

Speaking of players who struggling to win, Tony Finau tops the list. The American is coming under increasing pressure to win on the PGA Tour, but he has been playing well recently.

Consistency is a good way to make money on the Tour, but his record will be counted by how many wins he accumulates Finau has the ability to win every year and the 3M Open is there for the taking.

There is no Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, so someone like Tony Finau should come into contention.

He recorded a T15 finish at The Open and it was a good bounce back after missing the cut at the Travelers. The 31-year-old has been backed into the second line of betting with bookmakers, which is a serious move.

We’re confident Finau will end the drought this season and he doesn’t get a better opportunity to win.

Bet: Tony Finau @ $15Bet @ Sportsbet

2021 3M Open Best Value – Dylan Frittelli

The South African is getting close to winning for the second time on the PGA Tour and we were thrilled with his performance last week.

He finished fifth at The Open Championship and it was a terrific way to respond to missing the cut at the John Deere Classic earlier this month.

Frittelli had been struggling to find his best golf, and he might better suited to playing on the European Tour. However, we’re keeping the faith and his win at the 2019 John Deere Classic is too good to ignore.

He is a player worth following and punters get odds worth taking.

Bet: Dylan Frittelli @ $41Bet @ Sportsbet

2021 3M Open First Round Leader – Cameron Tringale

Cameron Tringale is a player who has never lived up to expectations, but he has been around the mark this season.

The former roommate of Rickie Fowler finished T26 at Royal St. George’s last week and that’s an outstanding effort for the 33-year-old.

He finished T14 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic earlier this month and he typically gets his tournament off to a solid start.

Tringale is good enough to lead the field after Round 1 and punters get generous odds. He’s paying $36 to lead and he could get the job done.

Bet: Cameron Tringale @ $36Bet @ Sportsbet

3M Open Top Australian Player – Cameron Davis

The Australian star won the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club and although he missed The Open last week, he should be well-rested for this tournament.

He is only 26 and he has plenty of upside. He was clutch down the stretch when winning and despite finishing T55 at the John Deere, he was still on a high from winning the week prior.

With a couple of weeks under his belt, Davis should come out firing and lead all Australians. He is paying $2.75 to beat the likes of Lucas Herbert and Cameron Percy, which shouldn’t be too difficult.

Bet: Cameron Davis @ $2.75Bet @ Sportsbet
