Cognizant Classic Tips & Predictions
—
Cognizant Classic Best Bet – Russell Henley
There has been strong betting support for Russell Henley, who plays his best golf around this time of the year.
The four-time PGA Tour winner hasn’t won since taking out the 2022 WWT Championship by four strokes over Brian Harman, and he’s too talented to go three years without winning, so we’re backing him this week.
He has played four tournaments in 2025 and made the cut in all, including a T5 finish at the A&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. That was an excellent performance from one of the best putters on Tour, which is where he makes up ground.
His $26 odds could firm, so it’s best to take the current price.
Bet: Russell Henley @ $26.00
Cognizant Classic Best Value – Denny McCarthy
Punters also get value odds for Denny McCarthy, who finished T5 behind Ludvig Aberg at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago.
That field included much better players, such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, so it was a quality performance from the 31-year-old. He has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but it’s only a matter of time given his recent form.
He is another player who putts well, and although the rest of his game isn’t where it needs to be to win consistently, if he putts well, he’ll go close.
McCarthy is also 0-2 in playoffs on the Tour, so he could have easily been a two-time winner. Therefore, take the $36 available.
Bet: Denny McCarthy @ $36.00
Cognizant Classic Next Best – Cameron Young
Talking of players yet to win on the PGA Tour, Cameron Young is near the top of the list.
Young has been frustrating to watch for loyal punters, but the former Rookie of the Year should win his first tournament sooner rather than later.
His attitude is what stops him from winning tournaments, and he often gets down on himself after a bad hole. If Young wants to rise to another level, he needs to play smarter and understand it’s a long four-day tournament.
We’re happy to adopt the chase theory and stick with him. He’s far too talented to be playing poorly, and a more relaxed attitude could work wonders.
Bet: Cameron Young @ $41.00
Cognizant Classic Top 20 – Min Woo Lee
Our picks largely feature players yet to win on the PGA Tour, but Australia’s Min Woo Lee is a winner in waiting.
The 26-year-old from Perth has been all around the mark in some big tournaments, and although he has yet to lift a trophy, he should play well at the Cognizant Classic this week. The course suits his style of play, and no having any superstars in the field helps.
Top 20 betting markets have Lee at $2.70, which is an excellent price. He should be near the top of the leaderboard throughout the tournament, so include him in your golf picks.
Bet: Min Woo Lee @ $2.70
