Genesis Invitational Tips & Predictions
—
Genesis Invitational Best Bet – Rory McIlroy
McIlroy is the hottest golfer on the PGA Tour, having won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this month.
It was a good performance for the 35-year-old Northern Irishman, who is making a push for Scheffler’s number one ranking. McIlroy is a proven winner around the world, and that’s why we rate him higher than his American counterpart.
Confidence is key with McIlroy, who shot –21 to win at Pebble Beach, and that’s an excellent score. There is no reason why he can’t win consecutive tournaments at the Genesis Invitational, and getting $8 is an excellent price from bookmakers.
We expect money to come for McIlroy throughout the week, and he could close at around $7.
Bet: Rory McIlroy @ $8.00
Genesis Invitational Best Value – Ludvig Aberg
2025 hasn’t gone to plan for Ludvig Aberg, but we’re prepared to give him another chance at the Genesis Invitational.
The 25-year-old Swede withdrew from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am two weeks ago, and although he is having injury problems, his natural talent should be enough to take him close.
There has been good betting support for Aberg at $26, who won the 2023 RSM Classic before finishing second in the Masters last April. Having strong finishes at the majors is a good sign, and he should start playing well as the Masters approaches.
We’re happy with the odds and he’s worth including as a tournament winner and top 20 pick.
Bet: Ludvig Aberg @ $26.00
Genesis Invitational Next Best – Tommy Fleetwood
Tommy Fleetwood is one of the better golfers to have not won on the PGA Tour, but we’ll keep backing him until he breaks through.
The British golfer finished T22 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which should be the best form guide for the Genesis Invitational. He didn’t play well on Sunday, shooting just –2 when most of the golfers at the top of the leaderboard went deep.
The best thing about backing Fleetwood are the odds. Getting $36 for a player of his quality is too good to pass up, and we think he scores an overdue win in 2025, and we’ll be backing him until he does.
Bet: Tommy Fleetwood @ $36.00
Genesis Invitational Top 20 – Sam Burns
Improvement is expected from Sam Burns, who finished T49 at the Phoenix Open last week, which followed a T22 at Pebble Beach.
He has a top 20 finish in 2025 when finishing T8 at The Sentry to open the year. That was a strong performance behind Hideki Matsuyama, and he could get back to his best form this week, and punters get value odds.
Burns is a $2.50 chance to finish in the top 20, and at his best, Burns is good enough to keep up with the world’s best players.
Bet: Sam Burns @ $2.50
