Shriners Children’s Open Tips & Predictions
—
Shriners Children’s Open Best Bet – Ludvig Aberg
The Swedish sensation never really looked like winning last week until the final round, where he closed with a superb score.
He might have missed out in a five-man playoff, but we don’t think he has his best game on show. Therefore, we’re happy to stick with him for the Shriners Children’s Open.
It has been a good tournament for potential first-time winners, and the sportsbook is keeping him safe at $13 behind tournament favourite Tom Kim.
$13 is better than the $11 last week, and although there are better players in this field, he’s worth backing every week until he wins on the PGA Tour, so we are applying the chase theory here.
Bet: Ludvig Aberg @ $13
Shriners Children’s Open Best Value – Si Woo Kim
Si Woo Kim is already a winner in 2023 when taking out the Sony Open in Hawaii, so he’s worth backing against at value odds.
The South Korean 28-year-old is a four-time PGA Tour winner, so he has more winning experience than most golfers in the world and that can’t be overlooked.
He won the Wyndham Championship in 2016 by five strokes before winning The Players and The American Express. Those are two of the biggest tournaments on the PGA Tour, so we’re including him in our selections.
Punters get $26 for Kim, who should be paying around $18.
Bet: Si Woo Kim @ $26
Shriners Children’s Open Best Roughie – Luke List
It always pays to follow the hot golfer, especially during the Fall Season of the PGA Tour.
Luke List won in a playoff last week by holing a huge putt on the first playoff hole, so he should be pumped for this tournament.
There is always one player to breakout at this time of the year, and List, if he didn’t celebrate too hard, could be that guy.
The American has a solid game, and although he won’t play the most exciting golf, he rarely puts in a bad week.
With bookmakers not respecting his win at the Sanderson Farms Championship, we’re jumping on to take the value.
Bet: Luke List @ $46
Shriners Children’s Open Top 10 – Adam Schenk
The guy with the worst name in golf is a good top 10 bet at the Shriners Children’s Open.
The 31-year-old has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but he lost the Charles Schwab Challenge in a playoff to Emiliano Grillo earlier this year.
A similar performance would be good enough to finish in the top 10, and there is enough value with the former Purdue Boilermaker.
Punters get $4.75, and he’s also $2.70 for a top 10 finish, so there is great value with the American.
Bet: Adam Schenk @ $4.75
Shriners Children’s Open First Round Leader – Tom Hoge
Tom Hoge likes to pop up every now and then with a good opening round, so we’re taking the generous odds.
He’s a $41 chance to lead out on Friday, and although most of the money is with tournament favourite Tom Kim, he doesn’t always start the best.
Hoge has the game to fire something around –6 on the opening day.
Bet: Tom Hoge @ $41
