St. Jude Championship Tips & Predictions
—
St. Jude Championship Best Bet – Scottie Scheffler
Betting on Scheffler outside the months of February, March and April has been a fruitless endeavour for punters. However, we’re sticking with him.
The world number one hasn’t won for the other nine months of the year, but he has been the most consistent golfer on the PGA Tour by some margin.
He should be looking to win this tournament, as opposed to collecting enough points to hold a lead heading into the TOUR Championship.
The American is a $7.50 chance at the sportsbook, which is a fair price given how often he is lurking at the top of the leaderboard.
Facing a limited field is another positive for Scheffler, and if his putter is working, they won’t beat him.
Bet: Scottie Scheffler @ $7.50
St. Jude Championship Best Value – Patrick Cantlay
It hasn’t been a vintage season for Patrick Cantlay, including some poor showings and being told he’s a slow player.
However, he usually plays his best golf during the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which bodes well for the St. Jude Championship this week in Memphis.
Cantlay won the 2021 BMW Championship before winning the TOUR Championship over Jon Rahm, so he knows what it takes to win during the playoffs.
He also won the BMW Championship last week, which might make it seem like he would be a better bet next week. However, he’s keen to play well at the St. Jude Championship.
Considering the $17 odds, we’re not leaving him out.
Bet: Patrick Cantlay @ $17
St. Jude Championship Long Shot – Tommy Fleetwood
Having played well in the majors this year, Tommy Fleetwood could rise to the occasion in the St. Jude Championship.
The Brit has yet to win on the PGA Tour, which is crazy to think considering his level of talent, but he might pull off something special during the playoffs.
The 32-year-old has fine-tuned his game nicely in 2023, and we expect a confident player to tee it up this week.
Therefore, as our longshot, we’re including Fleetwood at $29. Those odds could firm throughout the tournament with live betting markets if he starts well on Friday.
Bet: Tommy Fleetwood @ $29
St. Jude Championship Top Australian – Jason Day
There are only two Australians to make the top 70 on the PGA Tour, with Adam Scott narrowly missing out.
It’s Jason Day vs Cameron Davis, and we’re happy to take $1.53 for Day to come out ahead of his countryman.
Day has improved significantly this year after a string of injuries threatened to end his golfing career. However, he has overcome those barriers to produce some excellent finishes.
The odds are short, but in a two-man race, he’s worth including in your golf multi bets.
Bet: Jason Day @ $1.53
St. Jude Championship Top 10 – Jon Rahm
Despite being one of the tournament favourites, we feel as though Jon Rahm isn’t getting the respect he deserves.
If he were American, there would be endless coverage of the Spaniard, and his support for LIV players hasn’t gone down well either.
However, he’s a supreme talent and we think he’s on the first page of the leaderboard come Monday morning.
Rahm is playing well and he’s a four-time winner this season, so take the $1.91.
Bet: Jon Rahm @ $1.91
