The Masters Tips & Predictions
—
The Masters Best Bet – Jon Rahm
There have been only three repeat Masters champions, but we’re picking Jon Rahm to get it done this week.
The Spaniard won impressively in 2023 when holding off fellow LIV golfer Brooks Koepka, and although he’s yet to win on the LIV Tour, he has played well.
Experience should play its part, and we’re surprised by the golf odds available. He’s a $13.00 chance, and considering Rory McIlroy is $11.00, given his recent struggles, punters get lovely value for Rahm.
He has won some of the biggest tournaments in the world, and having played well at Augusta last year works in his favour.
Bet: Jon Rahm @ $13.00
The Masters Best Value – Xander Schauffele
Punters have been frustrated with Xander Schauffele’s lack of wins, but he’s one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour.
The Olympic gold medalist is usually a sure-fire top 10 bet, but we’re happy to back him to win The Masters.
He has been respected in betting markets at $16.00, so we’re not the only punters fancying his chances of scoring a long overdue win.
If you’re not so brave, Schauffele is always a good top 10 bet at shorter odds.
Bet: Xander Schauffele @ $16.00
The Masters Next Best – Hideki Matsuyama
Being a past winner of The Masters is the best form guide, and Hideki Matsuyama’s 2021 win was special.
The Japanese golfer has been playing excellent golf in 2024, including a win at the Genesis Open, and he played well last week.
There is nothing wrong with that form, and he’s another golfer who has been met with solid betting support throughout the week.
We’re happy with the $19.00 available for Matsuyama, who typically goes under the radar.
Bet: Hideki Matsuyama @ $19.00
The Masters Top 10 – Brooks Koepka
Schauffele is the best top 10 bet at $2.40, but we’re picking Brooks Koepka at better odds.
The LIV player hasn’t been at his best form, but that never matters with the enigmatic American.
He finished second behind Rahm last year when blowing a fourth-round lead, but he should have learned from his mistakes.
The good thing about backing Koepka is that his form comes from nowhere. He only plays well in the big events, and it doesn’t get any bigger than The Masters.
Getting $3.10 for Koepka to finish in the top 10 is a great price.
Bet: Brooks Koepka @ $3.10
The Masters Top 20 – Jason Day
Jason Day has an affiliation with Augusta, and despite some moderate recent form, he could get back to his best.
The Australian owns four top 10 finishes at The Masters, including a T2 finish in 2011 and a T5 in 2019. He followed that up with two missed cuts, but he played better last year.
Injuries have derailed the 36-year-olds’ career, but at his best, the 2015 PGA Championship winner is tough to beat.
He’s good enough to finish in the top 20, and he only needs to avoid making big scores to beat most of the field.
Day is also a $3.75 chance for Top Australian. He’s a better pick than Cameron Smith at $3.30, as Smith is battling illness.
Bet: Jason Day @ $2.80
