It has been a long run of outs for Scheffler, but he has posted numeroU.S. second-place finishes, and he could go one better at the U.S. Open this week.

He’s not playing bad golf, so we don’t quite understand the betting drift. However, we’re happy to take the $6 odds for Scheffler to win, as it’s a much better price than what punters typically get for him on tournament week.

Anything close to his best will be enough to win, so he’s our clear top pick.

Xander Schauffele has enjoyed a relaxed schedule this year after a bU.S.y 2025, and he should be ready to fire his best at the 2026 U.S. Open.

The 32-year-old finished T29 at The Memorial behind J.T. Poston, and although it wasn’t his finest effort, he showed something close to his best when finishing T7 at the PGA Championship earlier this year.

The 2024 PGA Championship and Open Championship winner has class on his side, and with recent major wins under his belt, he can’t be overlooked as a winning hope. Punters get $17, and that’s worth including in golf picks this week.

Patrick Reed is one of the best golfers in the world, and although he’s not one of the most liked, he should give punters a sight this week.

The American also has major winning experience on his side, and his form since leaving the LIV Tour has been excellent. He finished T10 at the PGA Championship and T12 at The Masters, which is a standout record.

He’s never respected in betting markets, and we priced him at $20. Punters get over double those odds, so he’s a top bet at $41. We recommend backing him in top 5 and top 10 markets as well.

Sam Burns is close to winning a major, and he only needs to put four rounds together to win the U.S. Open.

He’s often on the first page of the leaderboard on the final day, but a couple of bad holes see him slip down the rankings. He can’t afford to make any mistakes at Shinnecock Hills, but it’s a course that should suit his game.

Burns is being respected in betting markets at $34, and we give him a good chance of winning the third major of the year.

Chris Gotterup @ $5.50

A player who has made a habit of playing well in big tournaments is Chris Gotterup, who finished T24 at The Masters before posting a top 10 finish at the PGA Championship.

He has yet to finish outside the top 25 in his last five major tournaments, stretching back to the U.S. Open last year where he finished T23.
