Valspar Championship Tips & Predictions
—
Valspar Championship Best Bet – Xander Schauffele
It was another painfully close finish for Xander Schauffele at The Players, finishing T2 behind Scottie Scheffler.
We have full pockets after picking Scheffler to win the last two tournaments, and Schauffele can keep the roll going.
The eight-time PGA Tour winner is long overdue a victory after numerous top five finishes, and the American needs to get a victory soon.
Most of the early money has come for him. He’s the only player quoted at single figure odds at $9.00. That’s a good sign, and if he’s anywhere near his best, he should be too good for them at the Valspar Championship.
Bet: Xander Schauffele @ $9.00
Valspar Championship Best Value – Cameron Young
The former PGA Tour Rookie of the Year has yet to win a tournament, but we’re happy to apply the chase theory.
He has been playing well enough to win, but he needs to work on his temperament, which lets him down on too many occasions.
However, it’s only a matter of time before he wins his maiden PGA Tour tournament, and it could be this week at the Valspar.
The American is a $23.00 chance to win, so those golf odds are worth snapping up.
Bet: Cameron Young @ $23.00
Valspar Championship Best Roughie – Min Woo Lee
Much like Young, Australia’s Min Woo Lee is a likely PGA Tour winner in 2024.
The Perth-based golfer has been doing great things on the course, and although yet to win on this tour, he showed his prowess on the DP World Tour in 2023.
The 25-year-old is a three-time European Tour winner, including the 2023 Australian PGA Championship when beating the field by three strokes.
His most impressive win came in the 2021 Scottish Open, which is the main warm-up tournament for the Open Championship.
We’re happy to back him at the current odds.
Bet: Min Woo Lee @ $34.00
Valspar Championship Top 10 – Justin Thomas
Justin Thomas is running out of chances of getting back to his best form.
The two-time PGA Championship winner is having a crisis of confidence after missing the cut at The Players, but playing this event should help.
He was once one of the best golfers in the world, and we’re not surprised what happened. Much like his best friend Jordan Spieth, Thomas is having his struggles, and they are well documented.
However, despite needing to overcome his demons, he’s still one of the best players in the field. We can’t overlook the $2.88 to finish in the top 10.
Bet: Justin Thomas @ $2.88
Valspar Championship Top 20 – Maverick McNealy
It took a long time, but Maverick McNealy finally showed his best form at The Players.
The Standford graduate is a smart cookie, but he’s trying his hand at making money on the PGA Tour, and last week helped.
He played some great wedge shots, and he could use that confidence to play well in consecutive weeks.
McNealy has the talent needed to win, and he could score a top 20 finish at $3.50 odds, which is good shopping.
Bet: Maverick McNealy @ $3.50
