WGC Workday Championship Golf Predictions

2021 WGC Workday Championship Winner – Dustin Johnson @ $7

Dustin Johnson was within striking distance last week but he didn’t play well on Monday morning. However, the world’s best golfer demands respect at The Concession Golf Club.

Johnson has already proven his class when winning in Saudi Arabia earlier this year and he knows how to win WGC events.

The big-hitting American owns seven WGC titles throughout his career, including the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship.

The 2020 Masters champion is playing stellar golf at the moment and although beaten in the Genesis Open last week, expect a better showing on the weekend this week.

Punters get a fair price from bookmakers at $7 and those odds will firm considerably if he gets off to a good start on Friday.

2021 WGC Workday Championship Value Bet – Xander Schauffele @ $17

Xander Schauffele is a player that continues to play well without winning. The 27-year-old has been right around the mark this season, which includes a second-place finish at the Phoenix Open behind Brooks Koepka.

He also finished second at the Farmers Insurance Open and fifth at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii to kick off 2021.

Punters have been getting frustrated by his lack of wins, much like Tony Finau, but he’s playing some incredible golf. Patience is required when backing Schauffele, but he’s well worth following for the rest of the season.

He always gives punters a good sight and that’s all you can hope for when betting on golf.

Bet: Xander Schauffele @ $17 Bet @ Sportsbet

2021 WGC Workday Championship Longer Odds – Collin Morikawa @ $41

$41 for a major winner is good shopping and the course sets up well for Collin Morikawa’s game.

The 24-year-old didn’t play well at the Genesis Open last week, but he is still going through his gears this season. Coming off an incredible win in the PGA Championship is not easy, and he needed to rest and recuperate after a lengthy 2020 campaign.

Morikawa finished seventh at the Sony Open in Hawaii last month, so a repeat of that performance would take him close in this contest.

Punters get value odds and he should be around the top of the leaderboard.

2021 WGC Workday Championship Long Shot – Carlos Ortiz @ $91

The Mexican didn’t play well when missing the cut at the Genesis Open last week, but punters should look to his fourth placing at the Phoenix Open.

Ortiz played well throughout the tournament and shot –7 on the final day. Rounds like that is why he’s well-regarded on the Tour and it backed up some solid performances this season.

Winning the WGC Workday Championship won’t be easy, but he’s good enough to five punters a good sight at big odds.

Bet: Carlos Ortiz @ $91 Bet @ Sportsbet

WGC Workday Championship Top Australian Player – Cameron Smith @ $4

Cameron Smith heads a top field of Australians, including Adam Scott, Jason Day and Marc Leishman.

Smith comes off a top-five finish at the Genesis Open where he was only three shots back of the pace. It was a credible effort and he’s not far off winning again on the PGA Tour.

The 27-year-old has turned around moderate form to start the season and we fancy his chances after finding success last week.

Smith is paying $4 to beat the talented field and there is value with that option.
