Albion Park Greyhound Racing Tips

Race 1. 6.27PM Mick Byrne Memorial Heat 1 – 520 metres

#8 Rio Valiente – $2.90 – Bet Now

Only two times winner at the track and distance the son of Zambora Brockie has looked like a seasoned pro going 30.09 and 30.06 in consecutive runs.

Has had the pace to do it at both ends, has a short course speed dog in the seven that should help him across as long as he holds his width around the first turn is a big chance of crossing and running time.

Race 2. 6.48PM Mick Byrne Memorial Heat 2 – 520 metres

#3 Mick’s Recall – $2.90 – Bet Now

A member of the gun Dyna Double One/Paul’s Memory litter for Jamie Hosking, is slow early but came home like a train to win his Maiden last start after getting into all sorts of bother.

If he can just avoid too much trouble early and use his inside draw has the motor to run down the leaders.

Race 3. 7.07PM TAB Queensland Cup Group One Heat 1 – 710 metres

#8 Blazing Cartier – $1.95 – Bet Now

Stayer out of the Robert Britton kennel of champions has been racing and beating the best stayers in Australia on a week to week basis in Victoria.

Has only seen Albion Park once before without success but this race looks much more attainable, Classy Ethics should help her across from box eight to sit midfield and on pure staying ability she has lengths on these.

Race 4. 7.28PM TAB Queensland Cup Group One Heat Two – 710 metres

#1 Big Boy Bruce – $4 – Bet Now

Team Burman have stuck with him over the 710 metres and it’s beginning to pay dividends, running out the trip better and better each week, was a gallant third in last weeks Group Three Super Stayers.

The box draw wins it for him here, should have the early speed to hold the rail while main dangers Velocity Bettina and Rasheda will be working overtime from boxes seven and eight.

Race 5. 7.52PM Sky Racing Brisbane Cup Group One Heat One – 520 metres

#6 Black Opium – $1.85 – Bet Now

So much to like about this Victorian Group One winning bitch who was flying in free for all company before arriving for the Group One a race she finished second in last year only beaten by track record holder Sennachie.

She’s a better bitch since then trialled 22.25 on Sunday to equal the track record over 395 and loves and outside box, best bet.

Race 6. 8.13PM Sky Racing Brisbane Cup Group One Heat Two – 520 metres

#7 Simon Told Helen – $1.60 – Bet Now

No prizes here for putting the countries premier sprinter on top, his form couldn’t be more exemplary a 29.10 winner last start at Sandown, he won The Group Two Derby here last year in 29.65 and has only got stronger since.

Expect him to muster from the seven get to the front and run the hands off the clock, a few short price favourites on the card if you want to construct a multi.

Race 7. 8.37PM Sky Racing Brisbane Cup Group One Heat Three – 520 metres

#2 Stinger Noir – $5.50 – Bet Now

Lovely each way quote about a dog that’s been racing in the toughest company possible week in week out at Albion Park and not taking a backward step.

Can be hit or miss at the start but has the ability to recover from box two and make ground throughout, Hooked On Scotch is favourite for a reason but hard to take odds on when he didn’t handle the track last week.

Race 8. 8.58PM Sky Racing Brisbane Cup Group One Heat Four – 520 metres

#2 Oh Mickey – $3.50 – Bet Now

Not going to sack the Queensland champion off two luckless runs where he’s been checked pillar to post, comes up with a gun box draw here Bobby The Brute in the one walks out early should be able to find the fence and get back to his best.

Who Told Stevie in the eight is a class animal but Dynamite Lucy could hinder him early $3.50 about Oh Mickey looks far more attractive.

Race 9. 9.19PM MP Sanitize Mixed 4/5 – 520 metres

#2 Cyclone Arrow – Bet Now

Ex-Victorian has taken to Albion Park like a duck to water two from two for Tony Apap, 30.14 and 30.09 wins.

Will probably be headed early by Mrs. Sing whose quick out and can run time in the one, but Cyclone Arrow has an engine and if he can sit on her back and peel off in the straight he should make it a trifecta.

Race 10. 9.37PM GPP LASER 3300 Grade 5 – 520 metres

#2 Truthiness – Bet Now

Darren Johnstone has been wanting to get this chaser to Albion Park on a Thursday night for a while and he showed he was up to the grade running second in 30.23 two starts back.

The dog finally draws and inside box and if he can bring him 30.55 form from Ipswich looks like a huge chance to score his first Thursday night win.

Race 11. 9.59PM Garrard’s Horse and Hound Masters – 520 metres

#5 Mako Mac – Bet Now

Head and shoulders above these on her best form has placed in his last five starts always finding one better but this looks like the race she can break through.

Generally, has good box speed which she’ll need from box five, if she gets on the bunny game over she finds another gear out in front.

Race 12. 10.19PM fabregas @ Meticulous Lodge Masters – 520 metres

#1 Regal Emerald – Bet Now

Not the strongest of bitches but has the draw and the early muster to hold the fence early and pinch a good break down the back, She’s Some Gal may go with her early but has been dying on her runs.

Four wins from seven starts out of box one first sectional of 5.57 and a personal best of 30.03 sees her getting the money here.
