Ipswich Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 5.13PM TAB Live Sky Racing Vision Maiden – 520 metres
#2 Tungsten Miss – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Plenty of excitement around this pup, beautifully bred out of Fernando Bale and Queensland champion Miss Lauryn and she is with the Tzouvelis kennel who have a raft of young talent coming through of late.
Finds a very generous maiden in which to kick off her career, the main challenge should come in the form of Champagne Sally progeny Line of Sight drawn directly outside the bitch, but she hasn’t shown great early speed and Tungsten Miss could well hold the rail which will go a long way to winning.
Race 2. 5.34PM Sky Racing Maiden Final – 520 metres
#2 Comradeship – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
His debut last week was full of merit, did it the hard way from box seven having to sit outside hot pot Maddison throughout the run, but the first starter didn’t shirk the task pushing the favourite right to the wire.
He should be able to show similar speed from box two and has the potential to improve lengths on his first up time if he gets on the bunny and also factoring in natural progression for a young dog.
Race 3. 5.54PM www.ipswichgreyhounds.com Novice – 520 metres
#5 Galway Anne – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hasn’t set the world on fire her first six starts but has been more than a pass mark, her peak performance coming when she ran 25.38 winning over the 431 metres.
She comes from the Kevin Galloway kennel who are renowned for breeding strong five hundred metre chasers and first time up over the distance could be the trick getting her to fire again.
There is speed outside her in the six, if she can hold that challenger off early and find the fence around the first corner she looks the winner.
Race 4. 6.12PM Dover & Sons Restricted Win – 630 metres
#3 Eamon Mac – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has only had his maiden win in his first dozen starts, but looks to have a lot of upside as a potential middle-distance and staying commodity.
Sustains a high cruising speed in his sprint races, doesn’t go up a gear which has cost him some races but could be the making of him over this trip.
He’s a big chance of finding the lead around the first corner here and left to his own devices out in front could sail all the way to a win.
Race 5. 6.37PM Restricted Win – 630 metres
#3 Rottnest Blues – $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has the runs on the board here at track and trip, all three starts have yielded a result, a win, a second and a third, she most recently dropped back to the five hundred where she stormed home in good time to run third.
Was racing up the straight at Capalaba before jumping to the 630 metres two starts ago, she was fit enough to win then and will have only tightened up more since and could bring her winning time down substantially.
Not the best away but from the three should get a nice sit behind the leaders, before making her run.
Race 6. 6.58PM Beenleigh Legal Grade 5 – 520 metres
#7 Who Knew What – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was a maiden winner at Ipswich over the flying 288 metre dash in good time at her first start and since then has been plying her trade up the straight at Capalaba.
The McHugh kennel are known for having their dogs ready for a sharp rise in trip and expect this bitch to come out running and set the early section over the five hundred with some catch me if you can tactics.
Race 7. 7.18PM Puppy Noms Close 14th August Mixed 4/5 – 520 metres
#2 Davey Fawner – $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is yet to show his absolute best here at Ipswich, but has still managed a couple of minor placings and run 30.73 in the fledgling stages of his career, which has blossomed at Albion Park and Capalaba where he’s a winner of four of five starts.
He comes into this race fresh off an Albion Park win and has the early toe and late strength to excel here over the tough 520 metres at Ipswich.
Race 8. 7.42PM www.ipswichgreyhounds.com Grade 5 Final – 520 metres
#6 Blazing Bobby – $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet
You don’t often go through a Saturday night Ipswich card without Darren Johnstone getting one on the board and Blazing Bobby looks well placed here to continue some excellent recent form.
Was a winner here two starts ago running 30.9, this race is tougher than that but his form is only getting better, he’s capable of leading this field and running around he 30.7 mark at a nice price.
Race 9. 8.00PM Bodhi Ink Tattoo Gallery Pathways – 520 metres
#7 Beauty Edition – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Definitely not known as a strong five hundred metre dog but what she does have is early speed and a fantastic winning record from wide draws, she should lead these for fun and with plenty lacking confidence could very easily pinch this.
Has been involved in much stronger races at Albion Park, drops significantly in grade and as a two-year-old has the time to turn that form around.
Race 10. 8.19PM TAB Best 8 – 431 metres
#6 Mitchell Street – $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has found his calling over the 431 metres at Ipswich, a rare blend of stunning early speed and the quickest run home making him the dog to beat here.
Is going for four wins straight at track and trip the previous three all coming under twenty-five seconds, Spring Rock will be quick out but this guy can maintain the rage.
