Ipswich Greyhound Racing Tips

Race 1. 5.07PM TAB Live Sky Racing Vision Maiden – 520 metres

#8 Contessa Maywyn – $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

His bitch finds a very winnable maiden here, has placed five of her ten starts mostly over the 431 metres and should use that speed to cross and lead here.

If she takes up the running can skip away from these around the first corner and is unlikely to find anything to chase her down.

Race 2. 5.27PM Sky Racing Novice – 520 metres

#7 Tink Tank – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Not the most reliable source but has the talent to knock over a race like this, two starts back finished second here in 30.80 from a wide box which reads as great form for this race.

A lot relied on how she jumps, if she sees the bunny will be chasing hard but caught back in the ruck will prove tough going.

Race 3. 5.47PM www.ipswichgreyhounds.com.au Grade 5 – 520 metres

#5 Fire Drill – $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

He’s a mercurial talent this dog, came back from a long spell a couple of months ago and has built himself up over the 431 metres winning a couple of races in very handy time.

Has progressed up to the five hundred as of last week and looked all out a winner at the home turn just lacked that finishing punch he usually possesses when he’s raced over the middle-distance in the past.

Second up over the trip that shouldn’t be a problem, has the power to offset a tricky box draw and find himself somewhere outside the leaders down the back and every chance of winning.

Race 4. 6.11PM Ipswich Young Guns Heat 1 – 520 metres

#2 Merchant Navy – $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

One of the more promising types to hit the ground in Queensland of recent times, a winner of nine of his first eighteen and crucially is three from three at track and distance taking some good scalps along the way.

Jumps with them but given any room musters pace exceptionally well to the first turn and from box two he looks the likely leader here.

He ran 30.43 winning last week and the track is likely to be quicker for the Young Guns heats this time around, could see a really smart time from a really smart pup.

Race 5. 6.30PM Ipswich Young Guns Heat 2 – 520 metres

#3 Feel the Beat – $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Good to see this dog back on deck after a nasty race fall a couple of months ago, he was going from strength to strength at that stage and lets hope he can pick up where he left off.

Another chaser who loves it here at Ipswich, always puts himself in the early speed battle and tends to find an extra kick in the run home leading to four wins from five starts track and trip.

Fitness may be the only question first up, otherwise he should secure a lovely run from box three.

Race 6. 6.46PM Ipswich Young Guns Heat 3 – 520 metres

#1 I’m Explosive – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Has exploded on the scene the last few weeks won his maiden here in a sizzling 30.33 and has kicked on to back to back wins at Albion Park including a last start victory in feature race company.

Does his best racing when he rushes to the lead early but has shown in his last start he can track them through and run over the top as well.

Comes up with another ideal box draw and I just can’t see him not being a factor in this race.

Race 7. 7.10PM Ipswich Young Guns Heat 4 – 520 metres

#2 Luminosity – $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Serena Lawrance has built a fantastic record with this up and coming chaser, winning five of his seven starts here at the track and trip, he’s just so consistent of flying the lids and putting himself in winning positions.

The box draw is a massive plus here, has a 5.38 first section which should see him straight on the arm and asking others from tough draws to run time in order to catch him, look for a first out first home win.

Race 8. 7.26PM Ipswich Grand Prix Final Open – 732 metres

#1 Maggie Moo Moo – $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

What a match race we have on out hands here, Maggie Moo Moo gets a chance for revenge on Sir Truculent after the South Australian beat her home in last week’s Group One Queensland Cup.

I lean towards Maggie here given her history at the track, she first entered the staying ranks winning over the 630 metres here and now has the tank to get the 732.

Look for her to get a nice sit behind Sir Truculent and come with a finishing burst.

Race 9. 7.45PM Dover & Sons Mixed 4/5 – 431 metres

#1 Talk it Up – $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Talented young type out of the Tzouvelis kennel who’s made a habit of winning hee, five from seven at the track and trip with a best of twenty-five seconds flat.

Is drawn for more success here in the one, generally has good early speed and the mid-race turn of foot to compliment it.

Race 10. 8.00Pm Tab Grade 5 – 431 metres

#1 Mitchell Street – $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Known as a Best 8 dog at Albion park this is a big class drop for this chaser and the 431 metres should suit his strengths ideally.

Is always one of the first out over the five hundred but struggles with the trip, if he finds his way to the front here there’s no stopping him.
