Ipswich Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 5.12PM TAB Long May We Play Maiden– 520 metres
#4 Line of Sight – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has run into some serious young talent in tougher company his first few starts, kennel mate Bridle Hornet beating him home on debut at Albion, finishing down the track when checked in the Eric Thomson heats and Indictment ran 29.8 at Albion last start.
All of this Champagne Sally litter for the Burman’s have shown a liking to Ipswich and all have shown plenty of ability.
If this dog can get a clear run around the first turn we’ll likely see him open up and show what he’s made of.
Race 2. 5.34PM Sky Racing Novice – 520 metres
#4 Fancy Ava – $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks to be a promising young prospect in a field who have struggled to get out of Novice Grade.
Her last two runs read as great form behind Champagne Sally’s progeny True Contender and a winner over Contessa Maywyn who was too good in this grade last week.
Has shown decent enough box manners thus far and with a slow beginner on her outside is a good chance of finding a forward spot and knocking over her Novice.
Race 3. 5.52PM www.ipswichgreyhounds.com Grade 4 – 431 metres
#3 Orchestrate – $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has the credentials to win far tougher races than this, a Group Three Rockhampton Cup winner, Brisbane Young Guns champ and Origin Match Race victor.
Most importantly he’s won al those races with early speed and is two from two here at track and trip running 24.8 in the past which should see him home by a margin.
Land Down Under in the six looks the danger, a recent Group One finalist make sure to keep him safe.
Race 4. 6.11PM Dover and Sons Fifth Grade Heat – 520 metres
#5 Deck Fifty-Two – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has had good prior experiences here at Ipswich making it through to the Auction Sprint Final, has kicked on from then to win at Capalaba, Grafton and Albion Park.
Hasn’t won over the five hundred here but this looks like and ideal opportunity, is a well-rounded operator who should give himself a chance early and show off his turn of foot and strength in the latter parts.
Race 5. 6.35PM Chase Newspaper Fifth Grade Heat – 520 metres
#2 Tequila Worm – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ipswich specialist who likes to jump between the four and five hundred which always keeps his box manners sharp something that’s going to be key if he wants to upset the favourite drawn in the one here.
Panorama carries very similar form but comes up much shorter price wise, there’s nothing between them on the clock leader, it could come down to who leads out of the straight and Tequila Worm is as good a chance as any.
Race 6. 6.51PM Past Members Final Open – 288 metres
#2 Peeper Jones – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There aren’t many dogs who show much race sense over the dashing 288 metres it’s all about the start, but Peeper Jones has proven it takes speed and smarts to win over the trip.
In ten starts at track and trip he’s a three-time winner and four time place getter, going as fast as 16.83 which is competitive with any of these.
Hasn’t drawn the two before, but has a win and a place from the red and can drive around that dog on the first turn, juicy price.
Race 7. 7.15PM White Rose Boarding Kennels Fifth Grade Final – 520 metres
#5 Feel the Beat – $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is by far the class runner of the field here, had a nasty fall a month ago but miraculously pulled up with only a minor injury and has had just the two starts back, finishing behind Out of Champagne in the Young Guns heats last week.
Started the journey at this track winning four of six over the five hundred and finds the race here to recapture his best and go on to a dominant win.
Race 8. 7.35PM Ipswich Young Guns Final Open – 520 metres
#8 Katanti – $21 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Astounded to see this dog go up at this price for a second week running, has these covered for early speed and is ideally drawn away from the other dogs out in box eight.
Expect him to run a nice straight line to the first corner as he did last week and skip away down the back, is vulnerable late but will have stripped fitter for the run.
There are other good winning chances, but he’s well worth a tickle coming up at $21.
Race 9. 7.52PM Best 8 – 431 metres
#6 Spring Bowler – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Found his way back into the winners circle two starts ago, a crucial result for his confidence being his first win since an extended spell on the sidelines with injury.
Isn’t quite the dog who arrived here and won his first eight races but is showing signs of getting back there, has the speed to lead and the power to track the front runners and burst through late.
Race 10. 8.07PM www.ipswichgreyhounds.com Grade 5 – 431 metres
#1 Stay Warm Bear – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hasn’t put a bad run in since dropping back to the four hundred metres, has found a couple a little too slippery for him his last couple but from box one looks the goods.
Jumps well and even if he’s headed off will come again with his five hundred metre pedigree.
