Million Dollar Chase Final Form Guide & Tips
(1) Foreign Capital ($20.00)
He comes off a win, but we can’t see him getting anywhere near them in the final. We expect his odds to drift to around $30 on race night.
(2) Eriza Sparkles (Best Bet – $2.50)
We loved the way she hit the ground running in the semifinal, and she now owns nine wins from only 14 race day starts.
She’s a champion on the rise, and winning the Million Dollar Chase Final would cement that status. She gets all favours off an inside trap, and she should find the front.
Look for her to come out running and put them away down the back straight.
(3) My Boy Bingo ($10.00)
He’s seeking three consecutive wins, with both wins coming at Wentworth Park over this distance. He got the better of Cumbria Jack last start, but he had things go his way.
We’re happy to include him in first four picks if he gets the same luck.
(4) Canya Sapphire ($13.00)
Getting the inside trap won’t help his chances, and she could get squeezed up and put out the back.
That’s the biggest worry despite her impressive record at the track and distance.
(5) Power and Glory ($2.50)
Money has come for Power and Glory, who is the biggest threat to Eriza Sparkles.
He owns 10 wins and five placings from 16 starts at the track and distance, and with $400,000 in the bank, he’s a class act.
Luck is needed from the draw, but he’s good enough to figure in the finish.
(6) Daysea’s Rory (Best Each Way – $8.50)
He’s coming off four consecutive wins, and the three-year-old is always around the mark in big races.
That’s reflected in his record, and although there is a stack of speed to his inside, he could sit off the pace and come with a big late run.
We’re happy to include him in picks at the odds.
(7) Smooth Plane (Best Roughie – $14.00)
Leaving out a 28-time winner would be a mistake, so we’re happy to back Smooth Plane at double-figure odds.
He’s another greyhound that’s always around the mark in big races, and he’s back to his best form after consecutive wins.
(8) Zipping Ariel ($20.00)
She won well last start, and getting the outside trap is ideal, but the rest could have too much speed for her, hence the odds.
(9) Both Bowers Ace ($14.00)
He’s a consistent type, but unlikely to get a run in the field. A dangerous type if he makes the field.
(10) Cumbria Jack ($2.80)
He would be our clear top pick, but he needs two scratchings. Unlucky not to have made the final after blowing the start and finishing strongly.
