Perth Cup Form Guide & Tips
(1) Deadly Avenger ($3.10)
His heat win was very good and weāre not leaving him out of our picks. He gets all favours off the inside trap and that could be the winning of the race.
(2) Mepunga Tully (Best Bet – $2.70)
Gunning for five consecutive wins after scorching the track with an 8.5-length heat win over Fleetwood Kazak.
She is the form runner of the Perth Cup and sheās our top pick for Group 1 success at Cannington on Saturday night.
(3) Morton ($8.00)
Heās back to his best after consecutive wins at The Meadows and Cannington, and he narrowly got the job done over Smooth Plane.
It wasnāt an exceptional time, but the 20-time winner canāt be discounted. Heās a first-four pick in a very even betting field.
(4) Maximum Kuna ($51.00)
The three-year-old did well to make the final but the fairytale run could end. There are some superstars in this race and heās not at that level.
(5) Boracay Summer ($8.00)
Nothing wrong with her last-start win but it came over Maximum Kuna. Weāre unsure if thatās the best form compared to others in this race.
Trap five doesnāt help her cause either, so weāre prepared to risk her.
(6) Rare Speed (Best Roughie – $34.00)
Punters get value odds for Rare Speed, who led throughout when winning last start as a $7 chance.
She is a 17-time winner, with four wins coming at Cannington, and her track experience could be enough to see her boost payouts.
(7) Miss Envy (Best Each Way – $5.00)
Loving her work and sheās going in our Perth Cup picks. She owns 17 wins from 25 starts, and the WA Greyhound of the Year canāt be overlooked.
The draw isnāt ideal for her racing pattern but class should take her a long way. Getting $5 is a good price from bookmakers.
(8) Vincent Bale ($7.50)
He scored by a half-length in one of the easier heats. 20 wins from 47 starts, which is a great record, but crossing this field from trap eight could prove difficult.
He doesnāt always ping the lids either, so weāre not including him.
(9) Smooth Plane ($6.50)
He would be a big chance if he made the field. A big run for second last start, so if there is a scratching, he goes into the mix.
(10) Barefoot Zulu ($11.00)
Unlikely to run and we donāt fancy his chances if he does.
