Queensland Cup Runner-By-Runner Guide
Shooting for five consecutive wins and getting the inside draw could make a big difference.
Punters get value odds, and we like the way he found the line after setting midfield last time out.
Winning races hasn’t been easy for her recently, but she has been right behind some smart types.
She always has the potential to win at Group 1 level, and that’s shown in betting markets. We’re happy to include her in multiples as a solid each-way chance.
He is a 30-time winner who dug deep to win last time out. There is speed either side of him, which could make it hard to find a good spot.
We’re slightly concerned about his chances on Saturday, and the $5 odds are slightly too short for us to get excited about.
He’s all class, but we’re taking a risk and leaving him out.
She will ping the lids and look to lead throughout. If she clears the inside dogs, which she should, she could hold off the challengers.
Her three-length win over Power Squeeze is a good form guide, and we’d much rather take $5.50 for Miss Envy than $5 for Ayden’s Warrior.
It’s tough to leave out a runner with 21 wins from 39 starts, but she is another classy runner needing early luck in the run.
We picture her getting shuffled back as she tries to keep pace with Miss Envy, and a minor placing might be her best go.
The tactics are clear with Magpie Hector, who will flop out the back and produce a sustained finish down the back straight.
He owns a serious turn-of-foot, and although it can be a tough watch, we have him finishing over the top of Miss Envy right on the line.
The $3.80 is good enough to take, so put him on top.
Running second behind Miss Envy is a good form guide, and he was powering home over the concluding stages.
Money has started to come for her from a wide draw, and we’re happy to include her in our Queensland Cup picks.
He makes it into the field with the scratching of Zig Zag Man, and he has been well-backed to score at $7.50.
However, he finished 9.5 lengths behind Magpie Hector last start and turning that around could prove difficult.
Solid enough form this prep, but we can’t see her doing enough if she makes the field.
