Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips

Race 1. 6.04PM GRV Vic Bred Series Grade 5 Final – 515 metres

#5 Weblec Raider – Bet @ Sportsbet

Got back to Sandown last start and relished a track he’s had plenty of success on going 29.77 as he bridged a margin late to qualify for this final.

Has gone quicker around here before down at 29.53, only question is the middle draw but with no speed influences either side should get a clean enough run to the first turn.

Race 2. 6.24PM Runway Heat One – 515 metres

#1 Black Spartacus – Bet @ Sportsbet

Was typically brave in his heat last week, not well drawn at all out in box seven he continued to make ground in the run despite checks and being deep on the track.

Huge advantage coming up with the inside here, can drift back early and sneak runs on the rail with his excellent field sense, knows how to take a hole when it’s presented.

Race 3. 6.54PM Runway Heat Two – 515 metres

#9 Big Opal Rocks – Bet @ Sportsbet

Very Similar to Black Spartacus was undone by a rough draw last start, the big strong commodity was a faller in the run but has bounced back this week.

Originally a reserve for this race with the scratching of the red runner he moves straight into box one where it’ll be times and margins should things go his way early.

Race 4. 7.13PM Runway Heat Three – 515 metres

#8 Stone Cold Augie – Bet @ Sportsbet

Western Australian visitor had no luck whatsoever last week first look at Sandown Park in a feature race just didn’t get a crack at them.

Draws deep for the second week running and looks the one with the pace outside to put himself into the race and if he runs up to what he’s done at home is a huge threat at a price.

Race 5. 7.34PM Launching Pad Semi Final One – 515 metres

#5 Wow She’s Fast – Bet @ Sportsbet

Expectations were high for the series favourite last week but somehow she managed to exceed them, jumping the best she ever has on the way to a 29.14 win.

She’ll have to do it again from box five, but it’s hard to doubt her, looks her series to lose with other fancied runner not qualifying.

Race 6. 7.58PM Launching Pad Semi Final Two – 515 metres

#2 Amron Boy – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looks the only real challenger to Wow She’s Fast when they’re both at their best, his run last week had to be seen to be believed trapped off the track last at the first turn he somehow surged into second.

He didn’t appreciate his wide draw whatsoever and will love being back near the rail where he’s run some ridiculous time around here in his short career, perhaps multi him up with Wow She’s Fast for some value.

Race 7. 8.19PM Launching Pad Semi-Final Three – 515 metres

#5 Kung Pow Kevin – Bet @ Sportsbet

Just did what he need to in order to qualify for the semi-finals this week and if he can lift to his Sandown form of a month or so ago can show massive improvement here.

There’s plenty of pace in box three which he should be able to track across and use his mid-race turn of foot to take control of the affair.

Race 8. 8.40PM Launching Pad Heat Four – 515 metres

#1 Samona – Bet @ Sportsbet

Eighteen dollars you’re getting about this running if not for being marred in the run last week would have won his heat by a handy margin.

Did what was expected and drifted back early but stuck to the rail, if they jam up again this week could be looking at another big place or even win dividend.

Race 9. 9.01PM Bridged Group Sprint Mixed 4/5 – 515 metres

#4 Usman Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet

He’s just a tryer this dog, not quite up to the elite standard but you know you’re going to get a chaser who generally bounces well and will do things right in the run.

A second placing behind Amron Boy when taking ground off him late is the best form going around at the moment and he comes up an each-way price here.

Race 10. 9.25PM RSN Sandown Cup May 19 Mixed 4/5 – 715 metres

#3 Grace’s Spirit – Bet @ Sportsbet

Think she’s the one the bookies have missed here coming up at double digit odds, she’s relatively new to the seven hundred but has been impressive placing in two of three.

Known for bouncing out of the six hundred gates and hitting the line she’s one worth following over this trip.

Race 11. 9.44PM Farewell Lady Sono’s Mixed 4/5 – 595 metres

#1 Knick’s Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet

Complete forgive run for this Group One winner last week drawn wide she had to get some luck early and got none of it when shunted off the track.

She’s the type who won’t stay down for long and from the draw should put herself at the right end of this race.

Race 12. 10.06PM Book the Famous Buffet Grade 5 – 515 metres

#8 Octavia Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet

Has been a little flat of lately not quite showing her early career promise, but it’s still there and this is a race for her to recapture it.

Can ping on her night from box eight and if she does they’ll be all out catching her.
