Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 2.57PM Twilight Racing Grade 5 – 515 metres
#2 Mepunga Katie – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Happy to give this bitch another chance this week after running second in 29.67 last week in just her third run back from a lengthy spell.
She finds a similar race this week with plenty of speed in box one she’ll likely take a sit, but expect her middle and run home sectionals to be a couple of lengths better to get her over the line.
Race 2. 3.14PM Book Your XMAS Party Grade 5 – 515 metres
#8 Got the Torque – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Handy fifth grade race with plenty of challengers but this chaser has his perfect draw in the eight where he can muster early and explode across at the first turn.
Has been smoking them around the one turn track and last two starts has encountered Riccarton Rick and Tiggerlong Tonk, this is a huge drop in grade.
Race 3. 3.35PM Blackbook on Watchdog App Grade 5 – 595 metres
#1 Dark Arrow – $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The favourite will be hard to deny here, he’s been consistent of late without winning but is a track and trip specialist and a three-time winner from the red with a 34.03 best.
If he gets the start right and finds the rail first he’ll save ground the whole way and take some catching.
Race 4. 3.57PM Toongabbie Lodge Mixed 4/5 – 715 metres
#1 Pilbara – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has found his mojo again of late, had been in some tough middle-distance races and was running home well and put in a great staying return last week behind Mepunga Ruby.
He was finishing strong on that occasion and looks like he wanted the trip, expect him to sit behind the leaders and go up a gear late.
Race 5. 4.22PM TAB Long May We Play Grade 5 – 595 metres
#4 Malayah Bale – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Continues to put in bold showing since getting back up to her pet trip just hasn’t secured the right run yet to find herself a win.
If she can come out a length better and be a little more handy in the run she’s finishing out her races a treat.
Race 6. 4.47PM Download the Watchdog App Grade 4 – 515 metres
#7 He Shall Rodger – $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
He’s the definition of a well rounded middle-distance dog He Shall Rodger, can go with them early, consolidate through the middle and find another gear late.
The draw is tricky hence the each way price, but he’s a class animal and with plenty of experience here should find his way into the numbers.
Race 7. 5.04PM RSN Central 10.30AM Weekdays Mixed 4/5 – 595 metres
#1 Spring Cobra – $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Love the step up to the six hundred for this dog, an astute move at the right time from connections after breaking a run of narrow misses over the sprint with a dominant win.
Was making up ground in spades late, you’re never sure until they run six hundred but it looks right up his alley.
Race 8. 5.24PM TAB Melbourne Cup November 26 Free for All – 515 metres
#7 Immunity – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been in stellar form of late and his entire career for that matter a winner of seventeen from twenty-five starts he knows how to find the line.
There are probably some quicker Sandown Dogs in this race but they’re all drawn alongside each other, Immunity will get to show off his early turn of foot and skip away.
Race 9. 5.44PM Accell Therapy Grade 5 Final – 515 metres
#2 Lucky Lance – $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
It took the Queenslander a couple of runs to settle in down in Victoria, but he showed what he was capable off last start flying around Sandown in 29.52.
He’s a dog with good box manners but can also take a sit and is drawn to get a lovely rails run at an each way quote.
Race 10. 6.08PM XP 3020 Grade 5 – 515 metres
#1 Trending Rookie – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Don’t be alarmed when most of them are in front of him early, he’s a young dog who bases his races on power not speed and should secure a charmed run from box one.
Has been bouncing between the five and six hundred without luck, but comes to Sandown where he had his career best performance running 29.51 from the red.
Race 11. 6.30PM Giddy-Up Grade 5 – 515 metres
#5 Vayda Bale – $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been flawless at box rise her last two starts here at track and trip, stepping up from runs over the short course she’s just been found wanting late.
She’s still posted back-to-back seconds in 29.82 and 29.65 and if the trend continues she’ll be too slippery for them here.
Race 12. 6.53PM sandowngreyhounds.com.au Grade 5 – 515 metres
#5 Shima Punga – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another who bases her races around a clean getaway and first run back at Sandown last week she was more than serviceable, a runner-up in 29.77.
Historically loves a middle draw and with another run under the belt looks a good chance to grab a metro win here.
