Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.58PM MGA Golf Coaching Grade 7 – 515 metres
#7 Levitation – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Model of consistency to start her career, all five runs have been here over the five hundred metres at Sandown and she’s notched up a win and four placings in those runs.
Has hit the frame from multiple alleys and seems to always find a way to be in the finish at a very backable price.
Race 2. 7.22PM Saluting Butch of P5 2-3 Restricted Wins – 515 metres
#8 George’s Fancy – $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has probably done his best work around the one turn provincial tracks winding up with a big finish, with good results it was a matter of time he got to the circle and the wide draw suits.
Should get a nice cart across from the other outside two runners and won’t mind sitting three-wide going past them mid-race.
Race 3. 7.40PM Assessment and Inspection Number One Team Grade 5 – 715 metres
#7 Lunar Star – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Can be enigmatic with her racing style getting out the back and relying on a bit of luck to run on, but this small field presents a great opportunity for her to display her staying prowess.
She’ll be one of the last out of the lids but should find the fence and her rhythm mid-race and run into it at the right time.
Race 4. 8.04PM AC Goulding Slipper Grade 5 – 515 metres
#8 Arizona Eyes – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Class runner of the race, has done damage in tougher company than this but will need to be at his best to win from the draw.
Is usually steady away and works his way into his races, can’t get trapped too wide early but if he gets the sit mid-pack will be unwinding late.
Race 5. 8.22PM Ge VIP Members
#4 Weblec Ranger – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This up and comer put Arizona Eyes to the sword in his last win, simply too much early pace for the classy type, that form reads well for a race like this he just has to overcome the squeeze box.
Can begin like a bomb but can also have the odd off day, more than happy to take him on his best form at the price.
Race 6. 8.43PM Yarrabee Stone Dash Grade 5 – 515 metres
#1 Call Me Buster – $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Overdue for a win has been second his last three starts, drops back from the six hundred to the sprint here and from the one should steady up just off the pace and pinch runs.
This is a big class drop to some of the dogs like Jarick Bale he’s been tangling with over the six hundred.
Race 7. 9.07PM HTFM Sprint Mixed 4/5 – 515 metres
#1 Junk Food Junkie – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Turned back the clock last week flying out of box eight in what was a one act affair here at track and trip, before that he was behind Group winner Do It.
Strangely has never won from box one in his career, but with confidence on his side and going as good as ever this can be his race.
Race 8. 9.28PM Laurels Classic Final Group Two – 515 metres
#1 Devine Empress – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Snap this price up if you see it on offer about this bitch, has been nothing short of sensational winning her first four starts including a 29.23 effort here and showed great heart to make this final when things didn’t go her way from a deep draw last week.
She’s the fastest greyhound in the field and has come up with the plumb box happy to declare her the best of the night.
Race 9. 9.50PM Vale Frank Murphy Grade 5 – 515 metres
#1 Compliance – $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Perhaps think about a race-to-race double with these shorter priced commodities. Compliance is skinny enough but has shown enough to suggest he’ll be too good for this lot.
Has only missed out once in his career and that was when he was drawn off the track, will lead and take some running down.
Race 10. 10.07PM Gravity Got Mitch Grade 5 – 515 metres
#4 Annie Rose – $12 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Big value here, this bitch is one hundred and twenty starts in and still going strong, has been in the placings over the short course recently but has the residual fitness in the legs to run this out.
Always does her best to put herself on pace and in doing so the best chance to win the race.
Race 11. 10.25PM Follow Us at Sandown Dogs grade 5 – 515 metres
#2 Mighty Marvin – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Holds a brilliant career record with thirteen wins but it’s been a drought by his standards, but on his last couple of runs this looks his race.
Shows good muster to get across from wide boxes and drawn nice and cosy in the two should find his way across and into the action.
Race 12. 10.46PM sandowngreyhounds.com.au Grade 5 – 515 metres
#1 Tekki Nibbles – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Numerical form isn’t great but always a good hope in a race like this from a box he loves to race out of.
Just needs confidence and if he’s able to fly under the lids early and lead will find another gear.
Murphy is an absolute greyhound racing tragic. If he’s not eating or sleeping, he’s consuming as much greyhound content as he can get his hands on. Having worked as a greyhound racing journalist for more than 10 years, Murphy has an astute ability to match up various form lines to find the best value in each race he analyses and he enjoys nothing more than pulling off a huge plunge. As a greyhound owner himself, Murphy loves cheering home a live winner down the road at Albion Park or at the pub on Sky Racing, and he hopes to tip you a few winners too!
