Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips

Race 1. 7.04PM Book Our Marquee in January Grade 5 – 515 metres

#5 Hugo – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Was mighty impressive in the lead up to coming to Sandown Park and has carried his form brilliantly, his three runs crowned by a 29.46 win here showing elite muster from box four.

He did miss out last time when crowded early from a middle box, but law of averages says his turn of foot won’t let him down twice in a row and is a great chance of burning to a race winning lead.

Race 2. 7.25PM GRV VicBred Series Final Grade 5 – 515 metres

#8 Black Robin – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Winning form is good form and this bitch has put three on end leading into this final including a last start 29.34 win where she exploded across to set the first section and win by four lengths.

There is plenty of speed in the race but mostly drawn near the rail, she should clear the outside boxes easily and hopefully slide over from the eight.

Race 3. 7.43PM Toongabbie Lodge Free for All – 515 metres

#1 Riccarton Rick – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The only thing holding this dog back from winning Group races is his field sense he knows how to find trouble, but this race looks perfect for him with the small field and plumb draw.

Has done some great things here in the past at track and trip and if he sees daylight out of the straight has the sustained speed to skin these.

Race 4. 8.04PM Shima Shine @ Stud Mixed 4/5 – 515 metres

#1 Suntory Rose – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Has been going great guns without winning, she operates as a front running stayer and she just hasn’t been able to get across from wide draws the last couple of starts.

Drawn the pole here she should go straight to the front from the red rug and sail along in front, her fitness only improving.

Race 5. 8.25PM TAB Long May We Play Grade 5 – 515 metres

#3 Carry on Star – $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Carries some serious each-way value here, hasn’t tasted the winners circle of late but that’s not through a lack of trying coming up against some serious commodities.

Has done some good things here at track and trip and while she won’t blow you away with any one section always seems to find her way into the frame.

Race 6. 8.43PM Launching Pad April 14 Grade 5 – 595 metres

#4 Gypsy Toowoomba – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Another bitch who’s not a frequent winner but has done the hard yards early in her career being tossed around over different tracks and distances.

Good to see her settled at the six hundred metres in a moderate affair she should show good gate speed and maybe sit one off the leader, she likes to tuck in on the rail and save runs.

Race 7. 9.07PM Australian Sprint January 27 Grade 5 – 515 metres

#2 Well Grounded – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Coming up to start eighty he’s racing as well as he ever has, running down Qwara Bale to win over the six hundred before dropping back to the sprint and just missing out in 29.35 here last start.

Begins with them but can explode soon after box rise, that’s why he’s been so successful from these inside draws, if he runs up to what he’s been doing he wins.

Race 8. 9.34PM Maidment Memorial January 27 Mixed 4/5 – 595 metres

#7 Eat my Dust – $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Had him on top at an each way quote in a much harder race than this where he finished third to Group One winner Knicks Bale.

Good to see the kennel confidence backing him up over the distance less than a week later, he prefers inside draws but from the corner start could spear out and put himself right in the race.

Race 9. 9.50PM Accell Therapy Grade 5 – 515 metres

#8 Western Blazer – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Has tended to do his best work at other tracks but a recent drop back to the short course could be a turning point, he showed never before seen speed and will now look to convert it over the five hundred.

Is a winner from the draw and also here at Sandown Park previously, should avoid the traffic out in box eight.

Race 10. 10.12PM XP3020 Grade 5 – 515 metres

#4 Inside Fifty – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Good learning curve coming to Sandown last week, he looked a good chance in that race but didn’t quite get it right, he has the talent and his manners should be better this time around.

Has showed natural speed in winning at the provincials and one turn tracks leading into this, just needs to convert to circle racing.

Race 11. 10.30PM Giddy-Up Grade 5 – 515 metres

#1 Bip Bop – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

But the writing on the wall last week where he ran a desperately unlucky second having to do all the work from box eight only to go under by a short margin.

Rverse the draw and reverse the result and that’s what’s happened drawing the one this week, best of the night.

Race 12. 10.48PM Sandowngreyhounds.com.au Grade 5 – 515 metres

#4 Purple Storm – $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Is an unproven commodity here at the track but some of his performances at the one turn tracks have showed an unmatched turn of pace.

If he can leave with them and find that burst he’ll sail to the front and we’ll see if he can get a solid five hundred metres out.
