Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.14PM Buffet Winter Special Final Maiden Final – 515 metres
#4 Weblec Flare – $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Had been decent over the short course his first two career starts but looked like he wanted further and the kennel obliged, winning on debut here in 29.69 last week.
Seemed to appreciate everything about the track on that occasion and should be able to show out again from the middle of the line here.
Race 2. 6.32PM McKenna Final Tonight Mixed 6/7 – 515 metres
#6 Mepunga Stellar – $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another young chaser who’s found the next level since getting to the circle, finished second beaten half a length here last start and was a winner first up the run before that.
Looks and out and out five hundred metre dog which you can’t say for all of these and has the pace to off set the six, good each-way play.
Race 3. 6.54PM greyhoundfacts.com.au Grade 6 – 515 metres
#4 Kenji Bale – $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks over the odds here, has been nothing but consistent in his eleven start career and is just getting accustomed to city class racing, is a big strong dog that can jump.
Runs in his legs at the Meadows will have been invaluable in the lead up to this, if he can get clear early will run it out strong.
Race 4. 7.19PM Greyhound Adoption Program Mixed 4/5 – 595 metres
#7 He Shall Rodger – $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Missed out last start from a similar draw but doesn’t often put two bad ones together, was a 34.40 winner here the start before and has the speed to sit outside the pace from a wide box and wind up in the run.
Ripping form lines behind Jarrick Bale, Providence Bale, Qwara Bale and Shadow’s Mist, doesn’t meet anyone of that standard here and can capitalize.
Race 5. 7.40PM TAB Venue Mode Mixed 4/5 – 515 metres
#7 Aston Rupee – $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Phenomenal talent recently gave Shima Shime everything he could handle in the Pink Diamond final taking ground off the dual Group One champion towards the end of the five hundred metres.
Has been given a let up since then and returns in a very winnable race here, only needs luck early and will be powering to the line with a 29.06 personal best.
Race 6. 8.02PM McKenna Memorial Final Group 2 – 595 metres
#1 Shadow Mist – $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The former South-Australian has flown under the radar since coming to Victoria and committing to the middle-distance full time, she’s taken some serious scalps to get herself a start here.
Still has great early dash from her sprinting days in Adelaide and will be hard to run down if she pounces on the lead early from box one.
Race 7. 8.25PM RSN Central 10:30AM Weekdays Mixed 4/5 – 715 metres
#5 Mepunga Ruby – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has got to this level incredibly quickly, was set for the Group One Queensland Cup heats in Brisbane before a change of heart, Jeff Britton happy to try to pick off this race at home.
Seemingly improves every time she goes out there, a perfect blend of sustained speed and strength.
Race 8. 8.49PM TAB Long May We Play Free for All – 515 metres
#2 Qwara Bale – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dual Group winner had her colours lowered in Group One class in Brisbane when she was cleaned up early, but when she returned last time she got straight back to winning and expect the same here.
No immediate pace to her inside she could hold the rail early and lead or take a sit and charge home late.
Race 9. 9.08PM Toongabbie Lodge Grade 5 – 515 metres
#1 King of Calypso – $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Finds himself very well graded here drops in class after a run of outs in tougher company and should relish the rails draw as well, not a lid pinger but will hold a spot and finish strong.
Has gone around here in 29.28 only a few months ago and a race like this can bring back that confidence.
Race 10. 9.33PM Accell Therapy Grade 5 – 515 metres
#5 Going Alright – $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Going more than alright of late a winner of three of his last five all those coming here at Sandown from wide boxes with a best time of 29.49, can mix box manners but if he nails it will be hard to catch.
Drops in grade after a couple of tough Meadows runs, will appreciate room when he bounces early.
Race 11. 9.56PM XP3020 Grade 5 – 515 metres
#2 Call Me Buster – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
No reason to go away from this chaser here, was a dominant winner stepping back up to the 515 metres last start and should only be better equipped to go out and run time.
Doesn’t jump in grade and comes up with box two where he’s done some of his best racing from.
Race 12. 10.14PM Giddy-Up Grade 5 – 515 metres
#3 Collinda Beast – $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Have been waiting to see this dog around the circle for some time, is a nine-time winner around the one turn tracks running significant time and should step up easily.
Slots into a good box in a race where no-one is banging the door down, early speed should do the job.
