Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.59PM Group One Bold Trease Heat One – 715 metres
#2 Enter the Son – $14 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was as brave as they come when tackling Mepunga Ruby and a red hot field first up over the seven hundred last start taking ground off the talented bitch late.
Can show more early pace and be right up on the speed here, has hopefully come on well from that staying introduction and is at a very backable price.
Race 2. 7.19PM Group One Bold Trease Heat Two – 715 metres
#8 Mepunga Warrior – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another freakish talent over the six hundred who’s recently graduated in trip, came out running first up last time out and they couldn’t put a dent in his mid-race winning margin.
Gets a lovely cart across to the front here with speed in the seven, could well skip away again and have them all out chasing behind.
Race 3. 7.38PM Group One Bold Trease Heat Three – 715 metres
#4 Kenny the Brute – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
As tough as they come, has probably never been what you’d call an out and out stayer but tries his heart out and is always in for the fight in this kind of company.
Big tick to see him drawn near the fence where he does most of his winning, if he finds the rail early will take the short way home.
Race 4. 7.57PM Group One Bold Trease Heat Four – 715 metres
#5 Whodat Diva – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This bitch has emerged from no-where to be a huge chance at coming away with a Bold Trease result, she won on staying debut two starts ago and backed it up with a strong second.
Has shown the versatility to settle on or off the pace and for a bitch with a lack of experience has no problem running out the seven hundred metres.
Race 5. 8.19PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat One – 515 metres
#2 Koblenz – $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
It’s tough to take odds on in a heat of the Melbourne Cup but this dog justifies the quote coming in off a Group Two Cranbourne Cup rout followed by a dominant prelude win last week.
Is near faultless at box rise, should go straight to the lead and showed his strength last week running away from Typhoon Sammy late.
Race 6. 8.38PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Two – 515 metres
#5 Barooga Smoke – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Probably doesn’t get his dues when he’s on the same level as a lot of these Group Class dogs, the only worry here is box five but back his class to rise to the top.
There’ll be plenty of money for Tommy Shelby in box eight but it’d be a mighty task for him to win first up from there, big opportunity for this dog.
Race 7. 9.01PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Three – 515 metres
#2 Qwara Bale – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has probably been below her Group One winning best of late but finds an extra few lengths here and she looks the one that could run over the top of the early speed dogs.
If she can camp in behind Hadouken who’s strong out but suspect late she maps to get the ideal run in transit to launch at them late.
Race 8. 9.19PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Four – 515 metres
#3 Aston Rupee – $1.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There’s still question marks around Australia’s fastest dog in a field but he’s beginning to answer them the way he’s jumped his last few starts.
Form has been faultless and unless he’s checked out the back here early can give these lengths early and storm home over the top to continue his brilliant run.
Race 9. 9.38PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Five – 515 metres
#7 Hedbridian Black – $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Would you prefer him from box one sure, but his form is such that you can overlook the seven, he has won from out wide before but not in a race of this stature.
Has found the post first in four of his last five in a perfect build up to the biggest race of his life, love his chances of manoeuvring into the fold here.
Race 10. 10.01PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Six – 515 metres
#1 Weblec Blazer – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Had him down as one of the better bets of the night simply for the fact he’s drawn box one and Aussie Secret will get up the track from the two giving him every possible chance.
Has run the hands off the clock here in the past and if he gets the fly out of the straight won’t be caught by some of the favourites drawn out wide.
Race 11. 10.22PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Seven – 515 metres
#1 Lakeview Walter – $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The big boy doesn’t have the pace to go with them from out wide over the sprint but he’s been blessed with box one here and knows how to win at this level.
Will sit behind the leading brigade early but knows how to save runs and will be charging through any kind of gap that opens up in the run to the post.
Race 12. 10.42PM TAB Melbourne Cup Heat Eight – 515 metres
#5 Riccarton Rick – $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hadn’t missed a beat in the lead up to the Cup until a couple of uncharacteristic runs his last two out, look at it as a positive he has them out of the way.
Does need luck in running to the first turn but if he lands within a few lengths of the leaders will get motoring mid-race and be right in the finish.
