Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 7.04PM Vale Paul Wheeler Grade 5 – 515 metres
#4 Charlie’s Jar – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Had been a straight track specialist with wins up the Healsville straight until last week where he tackled the five hundred well first up finishing third here at Sandown.
Took a couple of steps to muster when he’s usually quicker out, look for a far more sharpened performance here second up.
Race 2. 7.25PM Welcome Dan Hibberd Grade 5 – 595 metres
#4 Stay Strong – $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is living up to his name and continues to get stronger over the longer distances, no trouble last start up to the six hundred running home for a solid second.
The start is all important here if she can clear the three gets a nice run outside the pace, if not could be in a bit of bother, but looks worth it at the price.
Race 3. 7.43PM Cup Preludes Tonight Mixed 4/5 – 595 metres
#6 Omega Tyson – $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Going enormous at the moment a winner of three of five and the other two times he finished second.
Has seamlessly got up to the middle-distance and with searing early pace is a good chance to charge across them here and rattle away, there are good form lines all around him.
Race 4. 8.07PM Bold Trease November 26 Mixed 4/5 – 715 metres
#1 Fernando Frank – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Astute training move getting Frank up to the seven hundred metres here, he’s been winning from the front and back of the field over the six hundred and should have the fitness to sail along in front.
There are a number of back markers who’ll be closing, but he could easily put up five with his mid-race pace and good draw.
Race 5. 8.28PM TAB Melbourne Cup Prelude 4 Special Event – 515 metres
#8 Xavien Bale – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bursts out of the boxes and when he finds the top in his races it’s generally all said and done, looking for his sixth win from box seven or eight here.
Just five starts ago posted a career best 29.22 from box six here and has been around the mark in top company since.
Race 6. 8.52PM TAB Melbourne Cup Prelude 5 Special Event – 515 metres
#8 Zipping Rambo – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Group One winner was disappointing in the Hume Cup heats last week but will be keen to rebound and build on recent winning sprint form here.
If he finds himself mid-field around the first corner has the engine on him to wind up and come with a serious run home to top these.
Race 7. 9.13PM TAB Melbourne Cup Prelude 6 Special Event – 515 metres
#1 Music Event – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is building towards the Cup nicely since resuming, twice a winner at Bendigo before stepping back out at Sandown Park where he’s done some of his best work in the past.
Has an imperial record from the inside boxes, does have pace directly outside but on his short course runs he can punch up and hold these out.
Race 8. 9.37PM TAB Melbourne Cup Prelude 7 Special Event – 515 metres
#2 Handsome Rhino – $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There are quicker dogs in this race but perhaps none better suited draw and timing wise than Handsome Rhino who’s in career best form and will be flying out from his low box.
Aston Rupee in five will be hampered by Hadouken early while the Rhino will get his chance to make his own luck from the checks.
Race 9. 9.58PM Shootout November 11 Mixed 4/5 – 515 metres
#6 Hill Top Jack – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Each-way special here, is one of the hardest chasing greyhounds you’ll find, rarely puts a bad race in and has been peppering the placings.
Would like him closer to the fence but he’s got decent pace and can make this work cruising up outside the leader before letting down.
Race 10. 10.19PM Hard Style Rico at Stud Grade 5 – 515 metres
#2 Going Alright – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Went more than alright at Cranbourne putting the paw to the floor in a dominant first out first home win, just rewards for his consistent metro form recently.
Comes back to Sandown at the right time to capitalise on this confidence, looks the obvious leader and has run sub 29.5 here before.
Race 11. 10.37PM TAB Melbourne Cup November 26 Grade 5 – 515 metres
#8 Mepunga Katie – $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Can prove a touch bitch to catch, put her on top a lot in her last preparation when up in grade and she couldn’t quite capitalise, but finds her right race here.
Won’t ping and lead but should push forward and find a handy spot to run on from, does has six hundred form to her name.
Race 12. 10.55PM Book Your XMAS party Grade 5 – 515 metres
#3 Belle Ali – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
She’s been one for the black book this bitch running home after tough luck early from wide box draws, she comes up with the three here where she can tuck in behind and finish off.
Just needs that one run to get back to her best and comes up an attractive price in this affair.
