The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.39PM the phoenix.melbourne Mixed 6/7 – 525 metres
#5 Speak Up – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Plenty of different form lines with the young dogs coming into this one, but you always value track and trip experience in these races and this bitch has it.
A slashing 29.55 winner from box four a couple of starts ago she showed great early burn to offset the draw, has not been far of them in her other outings and at the price is worth taking.
Race 2. 6.57PM Bendigo to The Meadows Final Fifth Grade – 525 metres
#9 Devil Sixteen – $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been a real trooper over the years never reaching great heights but as honest as they come, as seen in a recent runner-up performance at Bendigo.
The only thing holding her back in the market here in box seven, she generally goes better off the inside but experience on the track should land her in a handy spot.
Race 3. 7.18PM SLIM4Hunned Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Aston Tango – $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
It all lines up pretty well for this prolific winner coming in here on an impressive streak an important Sandown win under his belt last week and should get all the breaks from box one.
Earthworm Jim would have been a big threat but went to South Australia and was out of sorts, may take a couple of runs to find his legs again in Victoria.
Race 4. 7.37PM Happy Birthday Peter and Wayne Mixed 4/5 – 725 metres
#4 I’m Easy Boys – $16 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Mepunga Ruby is the obvious pick here after her recent third in the Group One Bold Trease, but with a hectic schedule and a very short quote it’s probably better to take a dive at I’m Easy Boys.
He’s one paced and won’t blow them away but will stick at it all day and is stronger than ever ninety-seven starts in, much include in exotics.
Race 5. 7.59PM Home of Ten Group 1’s Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#1 Nikoli Bale – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Too big a talent to continue running out of the placings, has been bouncing between the five and six hundred, this is probably his best trip and box one is perfect for him.
He’s a dog who’ll take a while to muster but give him a gap and he’ll take it, he should hold a good position early and be too strong for these.
Race 6. 8.24PM TAB.COM.AU Grade Five Final – 600 metres
#2 Call Me Buster – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Despite a win escaping him lately we’ve got him well over the odds and one of the best bets on the program.
Wasn’t an immediate success over the six hundred but trainer Brendan Pursell stuck at it and he’s improved each-time in, coming off a last start second track and trip he just looks primed to break through.
Race 7. 8.43PM themeadows.org.au Free for All – 525 metres
#4 Carry on Angel – $12 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ridiculous odds on offer here, was a huge run when beaten less than a length by Typhoon Sammy in the Melbourne Cup heats and buttered up finishing fourth in the consolation the next week.
This is a dramatic drop from that level of racing and even though the four isn’t the best draw this dog finds a way to win these type of races.
Race 8. 9.02PM Houdini Boy At Stud Mixed 4/5 – 600 metres
#3 King of Calypso – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Did right by the punters and scored at juicy each-way odds last week and comes up in a similar race from a similar draw, can’t see why he can’t win again.
Does every well, jumps, consolidates position and is in for the fight and knows where the line is, shorter quote but just as capable.
Race 9. 9.22PM Cookes Electrical and Air Conditioning Grade 5 – 525 metres
#7 Gypsy Yankee – $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
He’s short enough but an eleven win dog like him who’s used to going around in much tougher races than this looks poised to have a bit of class on these.
It only helps he’s saluted four times from box seven and makes it look easy working his way across, back to Sandown Park over this trip he looks a good thing.
Race 10. 9.42PM Gorski Tippers and Trailers Grade 5 – 525 metres
#3 McCooly’s Lad – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Astonished to see a dog of his calibre come up at this price in a fifth grade, no he didn’t live up to kennel expectations over the Melbourne Cup but you have to remember the dog was only a few runs back from a potential career ending injury.
Gets it much easier here, a race like this should see him find the front and the confidence that’s seen him run 29.10 at Sandown Park.
Race 11. 10.02PM Home of The Phoenix Grade 5 – 525 metres
#7 Tobin Frost – $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
A dog who doesn’t win out of turn due to his get back run on style of racing, but he’s been running in the placings here near on every week.
Likes to sweep around the outside from deep draws and one of these days will nail them on the post.
Race 12. 10.25PM Victoolshop Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Tekki Nibbles – $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
A dog for all occasions he’s won between the four hundred right up to the seven hundred, but a moderate fifth grade box one looks ideal.
He’ll take a while to get going but is capable of holding them out and can run all day.
