The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.32PM Book Now for AUS Cup Night Grade 7 – 525 metres
#1 Manila Dusk – Bet @ Sportsbet
Got his first look at The Meadows 525 metres last week and made a handy debut, stuck out in box eight was able to show good speed in search for the fence, was just beaten by inside dogs.
Meets a couple of rivals from that same race but this time draws the rail and should get his turn to punch and run out a strong five hundred.
Race 2. 6.52PM David Anderson’s 50th Birthday Grade 6 – 525 metres
#1 Suntory Rose – Bet @ Sportsbet
This bitch has seen the Meadows circuit four times now, never worse than fourth and a 30.00 winner she’s one you can bank on to run a race out of these young dogs.
At her best has showed good muster and drawn inside for the first time here should only help her find a position early to run on.
Race 3. 7.12PM TAB Australian Cup Prelim 1 – 525 metres
#4 Aratuza Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
Scorched around here in 30.03 just three starts ago running them ragged, this is a step up with Group One hopefuls but as his best he has the box speed and strength to go with these.
Should come up a good each-way price compared to the inside two dogs, there’s nothing between them at their best.
Race 4. 7.32PM TAB Australian Cup Prelim 2 – 525 metres
#1 Utah Express – Bet @ Sportsbet
Took a huge step last week bringing his Sandown form to the Meadows and showing the extra ten metres was no problem, leading all the way in 29.87.
Came up with the one on that occasion and gets it again here, his rivals are mostly run on dogs who’ll close late but he should clear out early.
Race 5. 7.53PM TAB Australian Cup Prelim 3 – 525 metres
#3 Zipping Hamish – Bet @ Sportsbet
Adept over the five and six hundred metres this chaser has been in good touch over both lately with wins at both distances at Sandown.
Box draw really suits the one and the two don’t fly out and the closer to the fence the better, expect to see him just off the speed and coming with a finishing burst.
Race 6. 8.12PM Zoomtop Group One – 725 metres
#8 Here’s Tears – Bet @ Sportsbet
Group One TAB Top Gun champion is drawn where he wants to be out in box eight and maps to follow Run Like Jess across from the outside brigade.
Sir Truculent and Sunset Bourbski are worthy rivals, but don’t map to get the same run and if he gets out in front Here’s Tears will run all day.
Race 7. 8.34PM Rookie Rebel Group One – 600 metres
#5 Wallbanger – Bet @ Sportsbet
One of the more underrated dogs in the country, gets his chance at a maiden Group One here over his preferred trip at the six hundred, has had plenty of experience here at the track and should know his way around better than most.
The jump will be crucial from box five but he’s normally on his game and should be able to push forward and run on.
Race 8. 8.55PM Temlee Group One – 525 metres
#8 Shima Shine – Bet @ Sportsbet
Confirmed his status as Australia’s new top dog winning the Group One Gold Bullion in Brisbane in devastating fashion, comes back home and draws the eight where he’s ten from twelve in his career.
Only slight weakness in the past has been the jump and he’s nailed that the last few times out, it’ll take a mistake or a flawless run to deny him another Group One.
Race 9. 9.14PM TAB Australian Cup Prelim 4 – 525 metres
#3 Nangar Rust – Bet @ Sportsbet
Broke the clock at Sandown last time out a slashing 29.18 performance overcoming box five to really mark his arrival in Victoria.
Won here at The Meadows on debut late last month coming from well off the pace to win, if he jumps he’ll go through the gears and put a time on the board ahead of next week.
Race 10. 9.35PM TAB Australian Cup Prelim 5 – 525 metres
#4 Unreal Ethics – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another New South Wales chaser down for the Melbourne Carnival, has had four runs yielding three minors and has looked better each time out a 29.52 runner-up at Sandown last week.
Junk Food Junkie is the likely leader from box three if he can take his back he gets a lovely run into the race and is known for his last split.
Race 11. 9.54PM KCR Pet Transport Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#6 Hadouken – Bet @ Sportsbet
One of the best box dogs in Victoria is almost always first on the bunny and with each start has gotten a little stronger and less vulnerable late.
Has the vacant box inside him which will only help, Queenslander Crazy Cool is strong but first up from box four may prove difficult.
Race 12. 10.17PM TAB Venue Mode Grade 5 – 525 metres
#6 Go Commando – Bet @ Sportsbet
Veteran chaser who’s been producing some huge runs at big odds, finds a Fifth Grade here where he should be more than competitive, he’s a winner from outside draws and gets his chance here.
If he can stay near the leaders has good sustained speed, will keep coming throughout.
