The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.35PM Sky Racing Grade 7 – 525 metres
#4 Pheme – $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Missed the kick and was no hope on Meadows debut last week checked out the back, on second inspection she never gave up and hit the line as hard as anything.
If she can find the early speed that propelled her to her debut and maiden win she took tailor made for the track and trip, just needs to hope for a better jump.
Race 2. 6.57PM Home of Ten Group 1’s Mixed 6/7 – 525 metres
#2 Shima Punga – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another promising Shima dog in the Andrea Dailly kennel, the youngster has only been out of the money once at five starts around the one turn and has done some of his best work from inside draws.
Kennel clearly think he’s ready to be tested over the distance first time like many of these are, looks a big chance.
Race 3. 7.17PM TOPCAT Video Grade 6 – 525 metres
#3 Shima Classic – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Litter mate to the aforementioned Shima Punga who was simply too speedy for him last time out, which is saying something given his muster.
Has brilliant acceleration off the mark, also her first time at the track under race conditions but would have trialled before, looking to keep the winning run going.
Race 4. 7.37PM themeadows.org.au Grade 5 – 525 metres
#8 Charging Yala – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks beautifully graded for this race, is much more experienced and credentialled then her competition and excels from outside boxes eleven of her fourteen wins from box six or wider.
Has gone 29.89 here in the past, hasn’t quite been in that form but gets every chance to find it here.
Race 5. 7.58PM Cadyl 2000 Grade 4 – 525 metres
#4 Utah Blues – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
They don’t come much more reliable than this chaser, he gets out of the boxes and gives them something to chase, has won more races at Sandown but is always around the mark here.
Draw shouldn’t bother him, expect him to be on the lure and doing his best to hold off any late surges.
Race 6. 8.19PM The Mark Campigli Stakes Mixed 4/5 – 600 metres
#1 Weblec Ace – $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks his race on paper, has been in a great vein of form since getting back to the six hundred, despite being around a long time set his personal best 34.10 just three starts ago here.
Led all the way from box three that night and comes up with the rail, watch out if he gets out clean.
Race 7. 8.44PM TAB.COM.AU Final Grade 5 – 600 metres
#3 Mepunga Royal – $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
First time back up over the six hundred last week chased gamely but couldn’t abbreviate the margin to the winner going under in 34.55.
Should take huge benefit from the run, is generally out fast and should cross favourite Rostered Off who will have to get through traffic to challenge.
Race 8. 9.05PM The Antonio and Schmull Classis Mixed ¾ – 525 metres
#1 Short Park – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks a special here, drops I grade from a run behind Equalizer, third up at The Meadows and drawn in box one he’s used to racing this company and has the muster to hold the fence.
Does the bullocking work early and then sails along with sustained speed out in front.
Race 9. 9.24PM Cookes Electrical and Air Conditioning Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#6 Arizona Gold – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has always found one better for much of his career but broke through by four lengths here last start in what could be a turning point.
Always has a few troubles early moderately served out of the lids, but the vacant box inside and smaller field here should help and he gives it everything on the line.
Race 10. 9.45PM KCR Pet Transport Grade 5 – 525 metres
#2 Black Gemstone – $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks a match race with Curfew in the one here who probably has the overall strength advantage but there’s no substitute for early speed which this bitch has a tonne of.
Last time here at The Meadows was a 29.95 winner leading all the way from the three, similar class race and field no reason she can’t do it again.
Race 11. 10.04Pm Greyhound Clubs Victoria Grade 5 – 525 metres
#6 Fergusta Bale – $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has shown plenty of talent here without winning, most recently was third last week in 30.24 close up behind the leaders.
That was his first Meadows run in over a month and he felt the pinch at the end of the 525, if he can follow the speed across here can sit handy again and with the run under the belt break the duck.
Race 12. 10.25PM Download The New Watchdog App Grade 5 – 525 metres
#4 Qwara Bale – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Comes straight out of one turn racing where she won three out of four in dominant fashion to the five hundred for the first time, clearly some kennel confidence.
Will need to lead to win but looks like she’ll do that on her ear, it’ll be up to the others to do the chasing if she does get weary late.
