The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.38 TAB Long May We Play Maiden Final – 525 metres
#8 Kenny The Brute – $1.90 – Bet Now
Happy to take the odds on about this dog after a heat win .6 of a second faster than the other heat winner, was highly fancied going in and lived up to the price tag then.
His one previous start was from box eight at Sandown where he wasn’t able to get across, as long as he’s learnt from that he can camp three wide at the turn and has the engine to run these down.
Race 2. 6.57PM Every Race on the Watch Dog App Live Mixed 6/7 – 525 metres
#1 Mepunga Katie – $3.40 – Bet Now
Came back from three months off like she never left recording her second win here pealing off the leaders back in 30.25 by three lengths.
She’s been given a good ten days between races to freshen up and draws the cherry for the first time in her career which shouldn’t be a disadvantage.
Race 3. 7.28PM Sky Racing Heat 1 Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Winlock Thor – $3.40 – Bet Now
Gets the draw here to bide her time early on the rail and work into the race with exceptional mid and late race speed.
Won’t be first out but knows how to stay out of trouble, just has to get a sniff of the leader late and will be charging home.
Race 4. 7.40PM Sequential Property Services Mixed 4/5 – 600 metres
#2 Wallbanger – $3.50 – Bet Now
Last three races are placings behind Christo Bale and Hard Style Rico who he chased gamely in the maturity heats last week and was the only one to make ground on the dog.
That run looked like he was crying out for the six hundred which he gets here and a nice low draw to go with it, should cross Ellias Bale early and give a big sight.
Race 5. 7.58PM themeadows.org.au Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#2 Kilpatrick – $8 – Bet Now
Has been putting in work at Sandown Park lately a last start win in 29.71 and a 29.89 placing before that, has a good record at The Meadows with a 29.95 best from an inside draw and is a huge chance here at each way odds if he captures that form.
Not much between the inside quartet speed wise, crucial he balances up early to give him a shot late.
Race 6. 8.18PM The Fireball Final Group Three – 725 metres
#2 True Detective – $3.60 – Bet Now
Didn’t get away well from an outside draw in his heat last week and was really brave to run on through the field to qualify, something he’s not used to.
Apart from box one he couldn’t have asked for a better draw this week, if he can go with or lead Thriving off the inside early he goes a long way to winning this race.
Race 7. 8.40PM KCR Pet Transport Maturity Classic Final Group One – 525 metres
#3 Simon Told Helen – $1.90 – Bet Now
Re-asserted his dominance last week returning from a Brisbane campaign to come out and run a sizzling 29.68 only bettered by Hard Style Rico who looks like he will get chopped out early here from box one.
Simon Told Helen’s first and second sections are unmatched, Hard Style Rico may take some ground late but if the former gets it right the bird has flown.
Race 8. 9.00PM Vic Business Challenge Free For All – 525 metres
#6 Black Opium – $1.90 – Bet Now
Beat Simon Told Helen and a superstar field to win the Group One Brisbane Cup and despite interference first run back in Victoria went 29.43 at Sandown running second.
Drawn out in box six where she likes to be has been flying the lids like no other should cross or sit outside the leader and prove to strong in the run.
Race 9. 9.19PM TOPCAT Video Heat Two Grade 5 – 525 metres
#5 Impending – $18 – Bet Now
Sixty-five start fifteen-win dog that has never been able to put the pieces of the puzzle together at The Meadows.
In a race with no particular standouts and coming in off winning form at Sandown and Sale you could do a lot worse than have something each way on at the $18, if he navigates the squeeze box.
Race 10. 9.39Pm Feikuai Greyhounds Heat Three Grade 5 – 525 metres
#6 Avalanche – $2.40 – Bet Now
Brought his outstanding provincial form to The Meadows two starts ago running on powerfully into second and after that knocked up another win from box five at Cranbourne.
Enjoys middle to outside draws, only average early but has the race smarts to stay out of trouble and get mobile when it matters, can run under thirty here.
Race 11. 9.58PM TAB.COM.AU Heat Four Grade 5 – 525 metres
#5 Extra Speed – $6.50 – Bet Now
It’s all in the name for this dog he’s got one way he wins his races and that’s by blowing them away with early speed, something he’s done sixteen times and in a fifth grade without and powerful types if he can cross is a big chance to go all the way.
Gets tired late but pretty reliable to be up near the lead for a long way and at the each way quote is very enticing.
Race 12. 10.20PM Home of Ten Group 1’s Heat 5 Grade 5 – 525 metres
#7 Gentlemen Thief – $6.50 – Bet Now
Was checked badly here last week in the heats of the Maturity and never a chance, dropping back to Fifth grade company from a wide draw looks much more up his alley.
His vice is his early speed but there’s not a lot of it in this race and the multiple time Meadows winner can bounce back to the winners circle if he lands prominent.
