The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.39PM TOPCAT Video Grade 7 – 525 metres
#7 Cousin’s Ace – Bet @ Sportsbet
Only in the infancy of his career with just the four starts but all have been promising, three right around the mark at Sandown and a win at Bendigo.
Likes to take a few strides and muster off the mat, which he should do here and the slight rise in distance looks a positive for the youngster.
Race 2. 6.58PM TAB.COM.AU Mixed 6/7 – 525 metres
#3 Nifty Nangar – Bet @ Sportsbet
Interesting runner here bred in North-West New South Wales out of Cosmic Rumble and Little Nangar he won on debut at Dubbo before joining the Schofield kennel in Victoria where he was brilliant on debut.
Looks the likely leader from the draw, but it is his first five hundred and Eat My Dust will be running into it late.
Race 3. 7.18PM Meadows Conference and Events Centre Grade 6 – 525 metres
#2 Weblec Blazer – Bet @ Sportsbet
A talented young type out of the production line at the Dailly kennels, has struggled to win of late but has been racing the likes of Koblenz who’s flying around the one turn tracks in Victoria.
Bred to get five hundred it was only a matter of time until he tackled it, should get the run of the race with good box speed from the two, has won both starts from inside draws.
Race 4. 7.27PM Home of Ten Group 1’s Mixed ¾ – 525 metres
#2 Qwara Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
The recent Group One champion was desperately unlucky in her heat of the Group Two Flying Amy in Queensland last week, was trapped off the track and still nearly ran Jeff Britton’s Do It down.
Should have the pace to clear He Shall Rodger early and once she hits the front clear sailing as her middle and run home continue to strengthen.
Race 5. 7.47PM themeadows.org.au Grade 5 – 525 metres
#3 Mepunga Maggie – Bet @ Sportsbet
Had had a rough time of it when it comes to box draws the only time she’s drawn inside recently she ran well here going 30.10 in the placings.
The veteran of eighty starts may be a little more dour out of the blocks but she’s still well up to this challenge is she can navigate a safe path early.
Race 6. 8.15PM Sky Racing Final Grade 5 – 525 metres
#2 Kasemi – Bet @ Sportsbet
This bitch is racing with some real confidence a winner of two of her last five and has always been in the finish, as she was last week gripping on from a 30.19 win.
Had to work overtime to get around the field from an outside box on that occasion and just felt the pinch late, should position herself much closer from the two and knows her way around here.
Race 7. 8.38PM Join the 525 Club Now Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#6 Russian Sub – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was storming to the line and abbreviating the margin on Gypsy Yankee at Sandown last start who lit up the clock on that occasion, looks ideally suited to a strong 525 race here.
Tends to do better work from inside boxes but with a vacant inside him should get room to operate early and is a 30.08 winner here in the past.
Race 8. 8.57PM KCR Pet Transport Mixed 4/5 – 600 metres
#7 Christo Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
This champion chaser is amidst a late career resurgence, winning four on the trot over the sprint before just missing out last time, previous to that was too good over the six hundred from this same box.
Has the pace to off set box seven and land somewhere just outside the speed, his mid-race speed is his calling card and he’ll be putting the pressure on.
Race 9. 9.20PM Feikuai Greyhounds Grade 5 – 525 metres
#2 Blue Bandana – Bet @ Sportsbet
Blue Bandana the box two specialist will look to strike while the iron’s hot here coming off a Sandown Park win which made it five from five from the checks.
Important first few strides if he can clear Colten Dayto in the one looks the clear leader and can hopefully make it half a dozen.
Race 10. 9.40PM Greyhound Clubs Victoria grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Impending – Bet @ Sportsbet
The veteran still has plenty in the legs and despite not winning lately has been running good time at Sale and Cranbourne most notably behind Group One winner Kuro Mismet.
Has loved a rails draw his whole career and figures to get a clean run through here and put up a gap going down the back.
Race 11. 9.59PM TAB Venue Mode Grade 5 – 525 metres
#6 New Jack Swing – Bet @ Sportsbet
One of the more consistent box dogs going around over the five hundred metres in Victoria, has a fantastic form reference two starts back when he was tracked down late by Christo Bale.
Should get the fly on them again from the six with a vacant inside and is running time good enough to win this.
Race 12. 10.16PM Cookes Electrical and Air Conditioning Grade 5 – 525 metres
#4 Nova to Burn – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tough race to access, but one thing this dog has in his favour is straight line speed having won at Healsville, from box four you’re likely to see him find the front.
There are a couple who could close him down late but nothing that jumps off the page, keep an eye on the market for a guide.
Murphy is an absolute greyhound racing tragic. If he’s not eating or sleeping, he’s consuming as much greyhound content as he can get his hands on. Having worked as a greyhound racing journalist for more than 10 years, Murphy has an astute ability to match up various form lines to find the best value in each race he analyses and he enjoys nothing more than pulling off a huge plunge. As a greyhound owner himself, Murphy loves cheering home a live winner down the road at Albion Park or at the pub on Sky Racing, and he hopes to tip you a few winners too!
