The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.37PM Sky Racing Final Maiden – 525 metres
#7 Paddy Wants Pats – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was competitive at his first start running third in a Maiden here at the Meadows but the time (30.86) was a long way off where it needed to be to win a race.
Was given a fortnight off and came back and won in 30.16 from box eight, good to see the progression between runs and maps to go forward again here.
Race 2. 6.58PM Meadows Conference and Events Centre Grade 7 – 525 metres
#7 Zipping Rafferty – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks clearly the one to beat here, has been building towards a win with back-to-back placings at track and trip and third up last week was exceptional winning in 30.09.
That was from an inside draw but has shown speed from out here before and finds himself in another very winnable grade seven.
Race 3. 7.17PM Join the 525 Club Now Grade 6 – 525 metres
#5 Ridge – Bet @ Sportsbet
His form speaks for itself of recent, a pair of wins and three placings in his last five outings he’s really matured from a talent into a professional race dog.
He’s going to have to lean on a bit of that race sense from box five with some pace around him, but he doesn’t mind racing off the fence and runs a strong race.
Race 4. 7.38PM Home of Ten Group 1’s Mixed 4/5- 600 metres
#3 Aston Gwen – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bounced back to form in a big way last week jumping well from a tough draw and chasing rival Carry Me Liam all the way to the line last week in good time.
She draws inside him this week and has far better early muster which could see her pinch a break, another run over six hundred should help her close the race out a bit better.
Race 5. 7.57PM Bendigo to The Meadows Final Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Indian Shadow – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looking at races like this it’s always good to see dogs with prior form at The Meadows and Indian Shadow possesses plenty of that, his best a 30.11 effort here which is motoring.
Gets all the favours from the plumb draw, may hand up early but knows how to run the trip and will keep coming throughout.
Race 6. 8.16PM themeadows.org.au Free for All – 525 metres
#7 Christo Bale – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was struggling for form until a trip to the Healsville straight seemingly freshened him up, has been jumping great in each of his three starts since going unbeaten in some very good time around here.
His record and credentials speak for themselves; you might like him a bit closer to the inside but he can use his power to burn them mid-race on the outside.
Race 7. 8.39PM Feikuai Greyhounds Mixed 4/5 – 525 metres
#7 Canya Cruise – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Came up just short again last start at Sandown Park feeling the pinch in the last fifteen metres to be caught by a couple of handy ones.
He drew dox one on the occasion, but I actually like him better out in the seven, he gets a better chance to cut across the face of the field and hope for some trouble behind where there was no shuffling up at all last week.
Race 8. 8.57PM Gr8 Eight Series Special Event – 600 metres
#3 Weblec Ace – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Super strong six hundred metre race, probably worthy of Group standard and if you wanted to pick a dog to race at that level it’s Weblec Ace, the veterans been around forever and knows how to handle the occasion.
It’ll be the charge of the light brigade to the first turn, if he’s able to sit outside the likely leader in the one or two he sustained speed should see him swallow them up.
Race 9. 9.24PM KCR Pet Transport Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Winlock Thor – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Powerful type who immediately becomes a huge threat when he draws the inside, has the bulk to hunt up and keep the rail.
Form doesn’t read great, but he’s been in tougher company and had difficult draws, this is his chance to show he’s still got it.
Race 10. 9.43PM Cookes Electrical and Air Conditioning Grade 5 – 525 metres
#7 Zivon Bale – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This very even race might just play into this dogs hands, all the speed is in the four and the six with a vacant in between, if neither of those dogs get the fly Zivon Bale gets the unimpeded run down the outside.
Is only new to the five hundred but recent form is excellent never out of the money and can strike gold here.
Race 11. 10.05PM TAB Venue Mode Grade 5 – 525 metres
#8 All In Dungee – $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been chopping and changing between The Meadows, Sandown and the short course lately but his best results have come here where he’s been challenging for a win.
Should go well from box eight, the six and the seven may come together early allowing his to head the outside quartet and go forward.
Race 12. 10.25PM Greyhound Clubs Victoria Grade 5 – 525 metres
#7 Leeroy Bomber – $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been going great guns around the one turns and recently had a trip to Mount Gambier where he was dominant as well.
We’ve seen dogs come back from that circuit and race well here and with his box speed he could be a big danger.
