We have expert betting tips for the greyhound cards this Thursday at Sandown Park and Wentworth Park.
There is always great value at Thursday greyhound meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Sandown Park Racing Tips
We’re sticking with Mepunga Rule despite some tough runs recently, and his form early on was excellent.
The two-year-old son of Barcia Bale won five of his first nine starts, and his win at Sandown Park earlier this preparation came easily.
His best form is right around the corner, so include him in picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Keep Rolling is a four-time winner at the track and distance, and having winning form here is a big bonus.
The two-year-old son of Feral Franky is a 17-time winner overall, and he showed why he was paying $1.70 when beating Valenzuela last time out at Geelong.
It’s a good form guide, and getting the inside draw helps.
Stake: 2 Units
Fleeing has been around the mark throughout his career, including five wins and three placings from 10 starts.
The two-year-old son of Tommy Shelby won his only start at the track and distance by 1.5 lengths as a $1.20 favourite, so the money could be on again.
The middle trap isn’t ideal, but class takes him close.
Stake: 2 Units
Whispered has been good to punters this season, and there is no reason to drop her from selections.
The three-year-old daughter of Zambora Brockie is a 10-time winner, and having experience at Sandown Park adds to her chances.
We expect shortening odds on race night, so take the opening price.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Wentworth Park Racing Tips
Tennessee Kade looked good in Victoria, and her form could excel with Jason Magri.
The two-year-old daughter of Hooked on Scotch owns five wins and three placings from 12 starts, including a last-start win in April.
Betting will be a good guide, but she is worth including in greyhound picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Status Jewel got back to her best form last time out at Gosford when scoring by 2.5 lengths as the favourite.
The one-year-old owns six wins from eight starts, and although she didn’t win in two runs prior to her last start, she didn’t get all favours in the run.
She has a 29.55 on her record, which is fast enough to beat this field.
Stake: 2 Units
Ritza Sophie has yet to finish worse than third from six career starts, including four wins, so we’re putting her on top.
The one-year-old daughter of Bernardo has done all her racing at Wentworth Park, and she has also run a 29.55, so she’s right up there.
We’re hoping for odds around $1.80, so include her in multis.
Stake: 3 Units
Boasting an impressive record is Ritza Tiana, who has eight wins and six placings from 15 starts.
The two-year-old daughter of Bernardo has won all eight of her races at the track and distance, so her record stands out.
Getting the inside draw is enough to see her handle this field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
