Greyhound Racing Tips for Thursday, July 23rd 2026

We have expert betting tips for the greyhound cards this Thursday at Sandown Park and Wentworth Park.

There is always great value at Thursday greyhound meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.

Sandown Park Racing Tips

Race 1. (18:39) Sportsbet Final 1-6 Wins (595m)

#3 – Bold Assail

Bold Assail is loving his work this season, having posted seven wins and four placings from 16 starts.

The two-year-old son of Aston Rupee has yet to run at Sandown Park, with most of his form coming at Bendigo, but he should enjoy conditions here.

Look for him to settle midfield before coming with a late burst.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (19:40) Book Christmas in July Packages (595m)

#8 – Nigel Devere

Nigel Devere isn’t always an easy runner to follow, but he could get back to his best following a tough run for sixth at Sandown Park.

It was his first miss from three starts at the track and distance, which includes a win and a placing, and drawing wide should keep him out of trouble.

He’s a 16-time winner, so he demands respect against this field.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (20:25) This is Football (515m)

#2 – Mepunga Whiskey

Mepunga Whiskey has made a positive start to his career with six wins and two placings from 13 starts.

The Jeffrey Britton-trained son of Fernando Bale won at Sandown Park three back before running at Warrnambool and The Meadows, where he didn’t run his best.

Coming back to this track could be enough to see his winning form return.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (20:50) The Nationals 25-30 August (515m)

#5 – Like a Rock

Not a lot went right for Like a Rock last time out when running fourth, but he owns a 29.02 at the track and distance, which is an electric time.

The two-year-old son of Mepunga Blazer owns six wins from 13 starts, and although he needs luck from a middle trap, he has explosive trap speed.

We expect money to come for him on race night, so take the opening odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Wentworth Park Racing Tips

Race 2. (19:13) Gosford to Wentworth Park Final (520m)

#1 – Shadow Assassin

Shadow Assassin has been all around the mark throughout his career, including a win and three placings from five attempts.

The one-year-old son of Fernando Bale should get all favours off the inside draw, and that could be enough to see his winning form return.

Look for a betting move on race night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (19:37) Wagga to Wentworth Park Final (520m)

#2 – Maximum Damage

Maximum Damage is running well this preparation, scoring two wins from his last three starts.

The son of Feral Franky is a seven-time winner overall, and his last-start win at Wagga came by 6.25 lengths, so he has plenty of gas in the tank.

He should get around the dog to his inside before kicking clear down the back straight.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (20:43) Wentworth Park Sports Bar (520m)

#2 – Summer Angel

Shooting for three consecutive wins is Summer Angel, who won her last two at this track, and she could continue the winning run.

The two-year-old daughter of Feral Franky owns four wins and five placings from 10 starts at the track and distance, which is a fine record.

There is no reason why she can’t post another win, and anything around $1.80 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (21:08) Sponsor a Race at Wenty (520m)

#8 – Red Hot Tina

Red Hot Tina has been red hot this campaign, scoring four consecutive wins before finishing fourth last week.

The one-year-old owns seven wins and a placing from 10 starts, and her five-length win two starts ago is a quality form guide for this race.

We expect a return to winning form, so she is a must-include in greyhound picks.

Stake: 2 Units
