Wentworth Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 7.19PM Ladbrokes National Derby Non-Graded Heat One – 520 metres
#3 Zipping Maserati – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Class animal who was breaking records at the Northern rivers before putting time on the board around Wentworth Park, struck out in listed company at his last two but is suited here.
Doesn’t ping but has great muster and can sustain that top speed for the entirety of the five hundred metres here at Wenty, just beginning to find his best.
Race 2. 7.38PM Ladbrokes National derby Non-Graded Heat Two – 520 metres
#1 Tarawi Ted – $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
He’s short enough but is a stickler for the inside draw and there’s not many who can match him for power and pace with just a touch of luck early.
Won’t be the first out but knows how to find the rail and has a wicked field sense to burst through late when a run presents itself.
Race 3. 7.57PM Ladbrokes National Derby Non-Graded Heat Three – 520 metres
#7 High End – $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Always a little worry when a young one sees a track for the first time but one thing that always travels is early speed and this Victorian has it in bucketloads.
Burst on the scene with recent wins in the city at The meadows and Sandown and on the each-way line can cause some drama here.
Race 4. 8.19PM Ladbrokes National Derby Non-Graded Heat Four – 520 metres
#1 Slingshot Jonesy – $1.75 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Was one of the leading chances coming into the series off some searing form in his first few career starts at Sandown Park winning a maiden final in 29.50 with a slashing first sectional.
Has since gone sub thirty seconds at The Meadows as well which is unheard of for a dog of his age, struck out last start but that was against a feature field of older more accomplished dogs.
As long as he’s handled the travel well and has been set for the race expect him to ping the lids here are enjoy every bit of this front runners track.
Race 5. 8.38PM Ladbrokes National Derby Non-Graded Heat Five – 520 metres
#3 Spring Meteor – $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The perfect dog for a series like this, he’s never missed the money in his eight starts and always been up over the five hundred since day dot, came to Wentworth Park three weeks ago to begin to prepare for this series and has rattled off a win, a second and a third.
That win came from box one when he ran 5.49 to the first mark and fended off challenges late, looks like a dog who knows where the line is and how to win.
Race 6. 8.57PM Ladbrokes National Derby Non-Graded Heat Six – 520 metres
#1 Boston Garden – $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Great to see this Victorian get another crack at an age race series after just missing out on a recent final back home.
He’s done a lot of racing and racing in good company for a dog of his age and while six wins from twenty doesn’t explode off the page he’s done it against the older dogs.
The inside draw helps because he isn’t necessarily the best away but can muster and knows how to weave through a field.
Race 7. 9.19PM Ladbrokes National Futurity Non-Graded Heat One – 520 metres
#2 Weblec Gem – $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Part of a big Victorian contingent from the dominant Angela Langton kennels and this bitch is arguably the best placed coming off a last start win and drawing nicely in box two here.
Like Boston Garden has done a lot more racing than most of these and is a winner over the five and six hundred in Melbourne, if she’s able to stay out of trouble around the first turn she’s the one to beat.
Race 8. 9.38PM Ladbrokes National Futurity Non-Graded Heat Two – 520 metres
#7 Good Odds Cash – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
A Good Odds dog at Wentworth park always has to be respected, this bitch came through the ranks and reached free for all company very quickly where she just lost her momentum a bit, but the Hurst kennel have freshened her up for this looking to get that zip back.
In her wins here at Wenty she’s shown she doesn’t have to lead but can sit outside and show mid-race burn which looks the most likely scenario here.
Race 9. 9.57PM Ladbrokes National Futurity Non-Graded Heat Three – 520 metres
#1 Don’t Tell Lies – $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This star South Australian bitch continues her East Coast tour, she was brilliant winning a heat of the futurity in Brisbane but drawn off the track in the final was never able to get into the race.
She’s a bitch at this stage that relies of a good box to show off her motor and she gets that here, even though she hasn’t raced at Wenty she should be acclimated and ready to fire.
Race 10. 10.15PM Ladbrokes National Futurity Non-Graded Heat Four – 520 metres
#2 Ties That Bind – $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Save the best bet until the last on the card, this dog looks an emerging superstar four from four here at the track and she’s already racing the likes of Zipping Kygrios.
Has a mighty impressive first sectional but it’s her all round skills as a race bitch which should keep her out of trouble and undefeated here.
