Wentworth Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.08PM GBOTA Welcome Grade 5 – 520 metres
#8 Silver Image – $4.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This bitch has won races over the three hundred at Bathurst, four hundred at Richmond and 450 at Maitland and has come as close as you can get to a Wentworth Park win placing in four of her six starts at the track.
She’s become used to being drawn wide and with her short course speed looks well suited out there in this event, a 5.52 first section should see her challenging for the front.
Ran a big personal best going 30.10 last week and is learning how to get around the track better with each outing, looks her turn.
Race 2. 6.27PM Ladbroke It! Grade 5 – 520 metres
#2 Short Ticket – $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Relatively new to Wentworth Park but is also relatively new to racing winning five of her first nine starts over varying tracks and distances, it’s a good sign to see the kennel push her towards city racing at such a young age.
She hasn’t been out of her depth either running 30.10 when winning on debut two starts ago roaring across from box eight.
She has the speed to beat these out and find the fence much earlier and challenge that thirty second barrier.
Race 3. 6.49PM WP Markets Sat June 26 Grade 5 – 520 metres
#3 Old Ace Banner – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This dog is more known for his middle-distance prowess but he ran a cracking race here last week, back last early he continued to take the runs on the fence eventually finishing second in 30.08.
He’ll need to produce a similar run this week with plenty of speed in the one and two look for him to drop in behind the leading bunch and bide his time until a run presents itself, hopefully won’t spot them as big a start.
Race 4. 7.09PM GWIC Rego Renewal Due June 30 Grade 5 – 520 metres
#1 Aston Barak – $1.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The quote is skinny but this chaser looks like a potential star in the making, has flown around here in 29.74 with a 5.49 first section and recently trialled in 29.98 here ahead of his return to Wentworth Park.
Is a rare blend of speed and power you don’t often find in young dogs, you do want to see him on the bunny isn’t known for chasing hard from behind.
Race 5. 7.29PM GWIC/NSW.GOV.AU/Renewals Grade 5 – 520 metres
#7 Miss Ezmae – $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is by far the most talented greyhound in this field and I back her to find a way to win this race but she does have to compete with a sticky draw, Sizzle Fly who owns a 5.35 first section is drawn directly outside and will be heading for the rail.
Basically if she stays out of trouble to the first turn her massive motor should take over, she’s dazzled at Dubbo with some unbelievable times and was most recently only beaten by Group winner Zipping Kyrgios.
Race 6. 7.48PM Where Else But Wenty Grade 5 – 520 metres
#4 Keeping On – $6.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Steps up in class here but it’s hard to fault what he did here last week going 5.46 to the mark from box seven as he raced away from the talented Silver Image in 30.08.
It was the dogs first win at the track in four attempts and may be the key to unlocking his potential here at headquarters.
Has had no trouble in the past overcoming squeeze draws and at the price looks the logical each-way play here.
Race 7. 8.08PM Beanies for Brain Cancer Grade 5 – 520 metres
#7 Sassy Ethics – $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks a versatile type out of the David Smith kennels, has won fourteen races in her career and often bounces between the short course and sprint.
Up until recently was forced to race in Free for All company here which she wasn’t quite up to but back in a grade five from a familiar box she’ll be winding up mid-race and is armed with a big finish.
Race 8. 8.31PM Get Your Greyhound On Grade 5 – 520 metres
#6 Loui Wonton – $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Not the most consistent type but has done a lot of racing here at Wentworth Park, sixteen starts for three wins to be exact and when he’s on his best is well and truly good enough to mix it with these.
He should get a nice cart across from the six with plenty of his own box speed coupled with Dip It In’s box manners in the five, if he gets on the bunny has run multiple races sub thirty seconds.
Race 9. 8.51PM Greyhound NSW Country Challenge Juvenile Final Free for All – 520 metres
#1 Ice Cream Story – $3.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has run the hands off the clock here in the past, getting down in the 29.5 range which puts her in Group Class, recently won a heat of the Group Two Flying Amy in Brisbane charging home after a slow getaway.
Has since had a trial to top herself up for this run and should be suited by box one, isn’t as quick away as she used to be but should work her way into this event at the pointy end of things.
Race 10. 9.15PM GOTY Awards June 27 Grade 5 – 520 metres
#4 Zipping Pearson – $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Early speed wins races and this dog has it in spades, is drawn ideally in the middle of the track with a vacant inside and is every chance of cutting off Picture Frame in box two on his way to the lead.
Can be vulnerable late but when you’re running in the 29.7 range it’s going to take some kind of performance to track you down.
