Wentworth Park Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.25PM GBOTA Welcome Grade 5 – 520 metres
#5 Big Gordy – $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has looked the part at Wentworth Park since winning his maiden here in powerful fashion, has missed out on a few occasions getting back early from bad boxes, if he can overcome the five he’s the clear class of this field.
Has run a respectable 5.54 to the first mark, but like many of Peter Lagogiane’s dogs comes into his own the latter half of the race, a lot of veterans and first starters for competition here, looks his race.
Race 2. 6.45PM Ladbrokes Back Yourself Grade 5 – 520 metres
#8 Zambora Zipper – $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another strong chaser out of the Lagogiane kennel, this son of Zambora Brockie has raced almost exclusively at headquarters only out of the money three times from thirteen starts.
Has good recent form going 30.72 at Richmond and finishing behind Big Gordy at Bulli, is two from two from box seven and was runner-up his only go from the eight.
Race 3. 7.06PM Enjoy a Night Out at WP Grade 5 – 720 metres
#8 In Your Time – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sticking with the in form veteran at a much better price than upstart Zipping Niseko at $1.35 from box one, he looks classy but is yet to tackle the seven hundred like this bitch has sixteen times winning her last two.
She’ll need to push forward from the wide draw and not give the favourite too much rope he looks the likely leader, she should come into her own the last hundred metres.
Race 4. 7.28PM Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude Mixed 4/5 – 520 metres
#2 Rowdy Roddy – $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This Queenslander has taken a real liking to Wentworth Park a tearaway winner in her National Futurity heat before a big run into third in the Group One final.
Has performed well back at home over the six hundred metres and recently in the Richmond Derby heats, if he can jump like he did first up here looks a special with all the speed in boxes seven and eight.
Race 5. 7.47PM Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude Mixed 4/5 – 520 metres
#1 Me Me Mia – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Group One National Futurity runner-up comes up with her gun draw here, she has the ability to lead this field from any box but grows another leg when drawn the pole, has rattled off 5.4 to the first mark here in the past.
Has had a solid couple of months of high class racing and is looking more and more comfortable at the top level, she needs to measure up here to be an Easter Egg hope.
Race 6. 8.07PM Going to the Dogs Mixed 4/5 – 520 metres
#8 Fantastic Victor – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Five from five from box eight just about says it all here, Jason Fletcher’s youngster loves being drawn off the track, with no-one outside him he can take a few steps to muster and get across a field.
Was overwhelmed by a good one in Ava Wine last week that was from an inside draw where he as cluttered away early, he should get the trail across from Cape Fernando here where his track and trip form should shine through.
Race 7. 8.26PM Sponsor a Race at Wenty Grade 5 – 520 metres
#5 Mercator Closer – $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has yet to establish himself at headquarters but has shown flashes in his five starts here and his form at all other tracks has been exceptional a recent winner over the four hundred at Richmond and five hundred at Dubbo.
Has s stayer in box four and will get his chance to show out early and push for the lead, different dog if he gets on the bunny.
Race 8. 8.44PM Get Your Name Here Grade 5 – 520 metres
#2 Transgenic – $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Another Queenslander who’s been in red hot form at home boasting recent wins over Cash Stack and Pokie Payout he chased another good one home in Louis Rumble last start taking lengths off him in the run to the line.
Even if the red leads him up here he should drop to the rail and follow him into the race with a superior closing sectional.
Race 9. 9.07PM It’s Gong to be Glorious Free for All – 520 metres
#3 Aston Zodiac – $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Big time winner tackling Me Me Mia last start putting a three and a half length gap in her late from box eight, has a winning record from just about anywhere and should be one of the first away from box three.
Massive experience advantage over some visitors here, he’s a six-time winner at the track and well and truly used to this grade.
Race 10. 9.26PM Where Else But Wenty Masters – 520 metres
#2 Sunburnt Highway – $1.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Nothing like Sunburnt Highway in the get out stakes, as usual in masters class you won’t find much meat on the bone price wise but he’s been thrashing his competition more than usual lately consistently running in the 29.8 range.
Sprung the lids from box one a fortnight ago and no reason to think he won’t do the same here, too explosive for these.
