Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Impendabelle ($8)
She comes off an impressive victory at Pukekohe, and she’s good enough to beat this field, so we’re not leaving her out of calculations.
2. Star of Justice ($8.50)
She’s in good hands with Te Akau, and coming off consecutive wins isn’t easy to overlook.
Opie Bosson riding adds more weight to her chances, so she’s also worth including in first four picks.
3. Viva Vienna ($21)
She is another Te Akau runner that hasn’t done much wrong throughout her career. It’s a tough field, but she could boost payouts.
4. Chantilly Lace ($21)
We have been impressed by her form, but she might be a half-length behind this field on Saturday.
Punters get value odds, but we’re begrudgingly leaving her out.
5. Luberon (Best Each Way – $5)
Luberon pulled up with a problem last time out, but she is a much better runner than that.
Her form prior included consecutive wins at Te Rapa and Matamata, and that form is good enough to back her at each-way odds.
6. Bozo (Best Roughie – $15)
She ran well enough against the boys last week, so we’re happy to stick with her against her own sex.
Punters get better odds than expected, and her form prior included a quality win.
7. Illicit Dreams ($41)
Her form this season has been solid without winning, but she’s not running well enough to win.
8. Mary Shan ($7)
She has been right around the mark so far and she went very close last time out. She’s too good to leave out of selections.
9. Molly Bloom (Best Bet – $4.60)
Molly Bloom looked good when winning fresh up, and she was unlucky when fourth last time out.
Winning at Group 1 level isn’t beyond her, and it’s good to see solid market support for the favourite.
She goes on top of our selections.
10. Tulsi ($15)
She hasn’t been too far away, but she’s struggling to win races. We’re leaving her out because of the depth of this field.
11. Epee Beel ($51)
A consistent runner but at much easier grades.
12. Lady Sass ($51)
A good winner fresh up, but much like Epee Beel, she could struggle to handle this level of racing.
13. Chica Mojito ($31)
Not running well enough to win the 1000 Guineas. She would do well to finish in the first half of the field.
14. Grande Gallo ($18)
In the same stable as the favourite, and she is the second stringer. Chance following a good win last time out.
15. Quintabelle ($41)
A nice winner two back but she didn’t do well enough last time out. Needs to lift.
16. Warning Special ($41)
A last-start winner with upside, but look to back her in something much easier.
17. Sugar ($41)
Needs luck from the wide draw and she lacks a finishing burst.
18. Firestorm ($51)
Unlikely to worry them.
