It was a busy long weekend of racing which means this Wednesday’s action isn’t as high stakes, but there’s still some great racing in store.
We have free tips and form for the best races at Wyong and Sale this Wednesday.
Wyong free tips & form
Race 1. (12:50) Provincial Championships Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Bell Serenade @ $2.70 – BET NOW
The Mitch Newman-trained three-year-old has been knocking on the door of a win after two consecutive placings this campaign.
He has finished within a half-length at his last two starts and although his form prior was only average, he doesn’t have to beat much in this field.
Expect his current odds to shorten.
Race 4. (14:35) Early Bird Wyong Maiden (1600m)
#8 – Sansa @ $6.50 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old filly which has placed in two of her five starts and has looked good in patches.
The daughter of Makfi didn’t run well at her last two starts but her form prior included a placing at Rosehill behind Gresham.
That form is going to stack up well at midweek level and she’s going to get every chance from barrier five with Kathy O’Hara in the saddle.
Punters are getting good value at the each way odds.
Race 5. (15:10) Wyong Farmers Market BM70 (1600m)
#1 – Happy Go Plucky @ $2.60 – BET NOW
Happy Go Plucky ended his last campaign with consecutive wins at Dubbo and Tamworth, but he hasn’t been able to win since.
The Allen Denham-trained gelding has, however, gone close and has placed in four of his last five runs. That included a quality placing at Canterbury behind Fantastic Man.
He went close at Gosford last start and there’s a lack of form in this race, so we’re expecting money to come for him late.
Race 6. (15:45) Tab Handicap C1 (1000m)
#1 – Eleazar @ $3.10 – BET NOW
Eleazar has plenty of talent and he looked good in a recent trial at Rosehill.
The Hawkes-trained three-year-old finished third behind Lubiton in a trial over 900m and that’s a good warm-up for what’s to come for the rest of the season.
He broke maiden grades last October at Hawkesbury when beating a field of five by 2.8 lengths and although he didn’t beat any superstars, that form should stack up well here.
The in-form Brenton Avdulla rides which is an added bonus.
Race 7. (16:20) Sponsor Opportunities Plate C1 (2100m)
#8 – Just Gorgeous @ $2.25 – BET NOW
Just Gorgeous is nearing a win after three recent placings and this looks her best chance.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner finished second at Hawkesbury last start and considering that was her first start over distance, it was a good sign of things to come.
Punters should forget about her previous start when racing out of her grade at Kembla Grange and her form apart from that was solid.
Nice chance down in the weights.
Sandown free tips & form
Race 1. (13:00) Laurels Function Centre (1200m)
#4 – Lagerfeld @ $2.50 – BET NOW
Lagerfeld was an easy winner at Bairnsdale last time out and although this is much harder, punters had to be impressed with the win.
The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding had finished second at his two starts prior at Warrnambool and that form should stack up nicely.
He opened up at $3 with most bookmakers and has been smashed in betting since, which is always a good sign from this stable.
Race 2. (13:35) Ladbrokes Maiden Plate (1200m)
#2 – Hollywood Vine @ $1.90 – BET NOW
The Robert Hickmott-trained three-year-old was well-supported on debut at Morphettville when finishing second.
That came behind a smart type and there has been good support for this run. After opening at $2.80, the son of Floral Pegasus was backed into $1.80 before settling at $1.90.
He gets the inside draw to work with and there’s not much form with his opposition here.
Race 4. (14:45) Brief Affair Maiden (1717m)
#12 – Think I’m Dreaming @ $2.65 – BET NOW
The three-year-old has plenty of scope and there was plenty to like about her placing last time out.
A filly by So You Think, she finished second at Cranbourne last start and punters won’t get the $10 that was on offer again.
Carrying 56kg is going to help her cause and although there are some dangers in this field, Think I’m Dreaming has more to offer than most.
Race 5. (15:20) Kwik Tip Bins BM64 (1100m)
#6 – Raspberry Rose @ $2.35 – BET NOW
There was plenty to like about the debut win of Raspberry Rose at Pakenham last October.
The Richard Laming-trained three-year-old scored by 4.3 lengths and even though she was disappointing as the odds-on favourite last start, she could bounce back.
She drifted out to $2.45 in the betting and she has since come in solidly to $2.35.
Jessica Payne rides and she should be tough to beat.
