Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:13) Anzac Day Maiden (1600m)

#6 – Blackwater Bay – Bet Now

Blackwater Bay finished of stylishly at Ascot last start and he was a touch unlucky not to get the chocolates.

The son of Blackfriars looks to have natural improvement in store and having William Pike in the saddle is going to drive down his price.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 2. (15:48) Tabtouch Better Your Bet Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Hip Wiggle – Bet Now

Hip Wiggle is looking to go one better after running second at Pinjarra last time out. She gets William Pike in the saddle and he could win the first two races on the card.

She owns four placings from eight starts and it’s only a matter of time before she gets off the mark this season.

Expect a good run on Saturday.

Race 3. (16:23) RSLWA Trophy (1200m)

#1 – Starfield Impact – Bet Now

The two-year-old filly is a three-time winner from seven starts and she has more than $300,000 in the bank.

She ran fifth at Ascot last time out and she’s capable of rebounding from that effort. All three wins have come on this track and we’re expecting another tidy effort.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 4. (17:00) Louise Newman 50th Birthday Handicap (1000m)

#3 – Cuballing – Bet Now

Unbeaten gelding Cuballing returns after winning his most recent start at Ascot. The Harvey-trained gelding won at Bunbury on debut before holding on for a narrow win.

He has plenty more wins in store and although he’s facing a tough field, he could surprise a few punters.

Race 5. (17:29) Sheila Gwynne Classic (1400m)

#3 – Angelic Ruler – Bet Now

Angelic Ruler hasn’t won for some time but she’s extremely consistent and has finished in the money in 15 of her 17 starts.

The Pearce-trained runner did well to run second at Ascot last start and she owns two wins on this track.

The small field helps and we’re expecting her to be right in the thick of the finish.

Race 6. (17:56) Gallipoli BM66 (1400m)

#7 – Kakadu – Bet Now

Kakadu scored back-to-back wins earlier this campaign and he’s capable of getting back to winning form.

The four-year-old owns four wins and four placings from 23 starts and he meets only an even field in this race.

He draws well in barrier five and he should be given a good ride throughout the race.

Race 7. (18:26) Lest We Forget 1MW (2200m)

#3 – Picture Perfect – Bet Now

Grant and Alanna Williams line up the capable gelding that has won three of his eight career starts.

The son of Reset has been mixing his form this season but he’s better than what he has been showing recently. His win two starts back at Ascot is a good form guide and he could get back to that winning form here.

Include at each-way odds.

Race 8. (18:53) Diggers Cup BM78 (1800m)

#2 – Trap for Fools – Bet Now

Trap for Fools is a Group 1 winner that returns after a decent spell. The six-year-old has won over $2 million and he has the clear class edge over this field.

He was given a trial to prepare for this run and he’s a 13-time winner with every chance to return in winning form.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 9. (19:20) Last Post BM72 (1100m)

#2 – Laverrod – Bet Now

Laverrod is a consistent gelding that has yet to finish worse than third from all eight career attempts.

The three-year-old owns two wins and although beaten on this track last start, he finished only a half-length behind the winner.

We’re expecting another top effort in a tough field.
