Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:48) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1200m)

#1 – Lacevinsky – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lacevisky couldn’t quite make it three wins on the bounce last start but he could get back to his best.

The six-year-old son of Playing God has good form at Ascot and the good track conditions should suit him perfectly.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.

Race 2. (15:28) Tabtouch Better Your Bet Plate (1100m)

#4 – Rockin’ Rupert – Bet @ Sportsbet

Rockin’ Rupert scored easily by two lengths on debut and the three-year-old could win again.

The son of Winning Rupert wasn’t paying big odds when winning and we expect bookmakers to have him firm in the market.

Barrier three is ideal and he should get every chance to win.

Race 3. (16:08) Glenroy Chaff 1MW (1000m)

#4 – Beads – Bet @ Sportsbet

Beads comes off a second placing at Ascot and the half-length placing is an excellent form guide.

The three-year-old gelding ran second behind The Front Bar, who could be a smart type in the making.

That form stands out against this level of opposition and we expect Beads to be right in the thick of the action.

Race 4. (16:48) Amelia Park BM66 (1500m)

#3 – Fangio – Bet @ Sportsbet

Fangio is a six-time winner from 14 starts and with two wins over the distance, she should enjoy the conditions.

The six-year-old daughter of Husson was only 2.3 lengths behind the winner at Belmont last start, which was a nice second-up effort.

Punters could get each-way odds, so she’s worth following.

Race 5. (17:28) Crown Perth BM72 (1600m)

#1 – Dom to Shoot – Bet @ Sportsbet

Dom to Shoot has improved with every run this preparation, including a second placing last start at Ascot.

The four-year-old son of Shooting to Win was only a nose behind Bella’s Idol, and we expect that form to stand up well in this grade.

1.5kg comes off his back, so put him on top.

Race 6. (18:08) Salinger 1MW (1400m)

#4 – Secret Statue – Bet @ Sportsbet

Secret Statue has needed all three runs back from a spell and the Williams-trained gelding could strike here.

It could pay to overlook his poor record at Ascot. He hasn’t been too far away in three starts here, so he’s overdue some success.

Punters should get each-way odds on race day.

Race 7. (18:41) Morley Growers Market BM66 (1200m)

#10 – Billy Ray – Bet @ Sportsbet

Billy Ray has been disappointing in two runs back from a spell, but it’s about time he showed his best form.

He owns two wins and five placings from 10 starts, so the ability is there and dropping to 55.5kg should be ideal.

Barrier four suits and we like his chances of winning.

Race 8. (19:25) G.A. Towton Cup (2200m)

#13 – Pure Devotion @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Money is with Pure Devotion, who is gunning for her fourth consecutive win at Ascot.

The four-year-old mare by So You Think scored by a half-length over Reliable Star last start, which is excellent form.

Carrying 54kg is a steal and $3 is well worth taking.

Race 9. (20:00) Belhus Racing Stables BM66 (1800m)

#1 – Holy Enchantment – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters should get value odds for Holy Enchantment, who has rattled off five consecutive placings.

The four-year-old son of Playing God has gone close in three starts at Ascot and it shouldn’t take him long to get back to winning form.

The wide draw is the only worry, but include him.
